Historia
For more than 1,000 years, Christians and Muslims lived side by side, sometimes at peace and sometimes at war. When Christian armies seized Jerusalem in 1099, they began the most notorious period of conflict between the two religions. Depending on who you ask, the fall of the holy city was either an inspiring legend or the greatest of horrors. In Crusaders, Dan Jones interrogates the many sides of the larger story, charting a deeply human and avowedly pluralist path through the crusading era.

Great job by the author on the story and narration. He really did a good job with the narration as well.

Historia
Gunter K. Koschorrek was a machine-gunner on the Russian front in WWII. He wrote his illicit diary on any scraps of paper he could lay his hands on. As keeping a diary was strictly forbidden, he sewed the pages into the lining of his thick winter coat and deposited them with his mother on infrequent trips home on leave. The diary went missing, and it was when he was reunited with his daughter in America some 40 years later that it came to light and became Blood Red Snow.

It took me a while to get through this one as it wasn't very captivating. I actually didn't realize that I owned this book in physical form until I was nearly done with it.

Historia
From the time of Ancient Sumeria, the heavy infantry phalanx dominated the battlefield. Armed with spears or pikes, standing shoulder to shoulder with shields interlocking, the men of the phalanx presented an impenetrable wall of wood and metal to the enemy. Until, that is, the Roman legion emerged to challenge them as masters of infantry battle.

Good for the most part.
Revisado: 07-22-20
Good narration and story. Easy to follow and lots of details about specific battles all in one place. only teo quibbles. Author mentions that Pyrrhus had the Atlas elephants which does not match what is known since they were part of rhe Macedonian herd. Also the refsrence to Stalingrad in mentioned as being in 1941 which is clearly wrong by one year and kind of an obvious mistake. Otherwise, recommended.

Historia
It would be hard if not outright impossible to overstate the impact Roman Emperor Constantine I had on the history of Christianity, Ancient Rome, and Europe as a whole. Best known as Constantine the Great, the kind of moniker only earned by rulers who have distinguished themselves in battle and conquest, Constantine remains an influential and controversial figure to this day.

Book was too short. Did not go into the detail I wanted. Very cursory description of a few battles.
