A fun ending to a great series.
Revisado: 12-28-20
Rick Riordan has improved significantly since he wrote the original Percy Jackson series. His characters have more depth, and in this conclusion, he masterfully weaved together all the outstanding plot lines into a satisfying ending.

Historia
Cujo is a 200-pound Saint Bernard, the best friend Brett Camber has ever had. One day Cujo chases a rabbit into a cave inhabited by sick bats. What happens to Cujo, how he becomes a horrifying vortex inescapably drawing in all the people around him, makes for one of the most heart-stopping novels Stephen King has ever written.

Stephen King at his best!
Revisado: 02-03-19
This is classic Stephen King. Well written characters and wonderful word choice. The narrator was spot on as well, and made the characters come to life. A five-star read!

Having lost her own sister to murder at a young age, Tracy has dedicated her career to bringing justice and closure to the families and friends of victims of crime. So when Jenny, a former police academy classmate and protégé, asks Tracy to help solve a cold case that involves the suspicious suicide of a Native American high school girl forty years earlier, Tracy agrees.

A bit boring
Revisado: 06-29-16
The character development is decent enough, but the story itself drags on, particularly the subplots. If you run out of other books to listen to, you might as well give it a try; however, I don't recommend this be the top of the stack.

Historia
With chapters on every woman who’s ever made it to the White House, Secret Lives of the First Ladies tackles all of the tough questions that other history books are afraid to ask: How many of these women owned slaves? Which ones were cheating on their husbands? And why was Eleanor Roosevelt serving hot dogs to the King and Queen of England? American history was never this much fun in school

Enjoyable
Revisado: 05-26-16
It's true that this book mixes rumors and facts, but that does not detract from the enjoyment of listening to it. Also, it shines a light on the vast influence these powerful women had on our nation--a subject all but ignored in our traditional K-12 education.

Historia
Four hundred years in the future the Earth has turned primitive, following a nuclear fire that laid waste to civilization and nature. Though the radiation fallout has ended, for some unknowable reason every person is born with a twin. Of each pair one is an Alpha - physically perfect in every way - and the other an Omega burdened with deformity, small or large.

Great concept, boring narrative
Revisado: 04-09-15
The premise is very promising, but the character development and pace of the story leaves something to be desired. I will probably read the next book in the series, but if there isn't improvement, I won't finish the series.

Historia
Goodwin describes the broken friendship between Teddy Roosevelt and his chosen successor, William Howard Taft. With the help of the "muckraking" press, Roosevelt had wielded the Bully Pulpit to challenge and triumph over abusive monopolies, political bosses, and corrupting money brokers. Roosevelt led a revolution that he bequeathed to Taft only to see it compromised as Taft surrendered to money men and big business. The rupture led Roosevelt to run against Taft for president, an ultimately futile race that gave power away to the Democrats.

Fantastic Read!!!
Revisado: 03-17-15
Doris Goodwin's account of Roosevelt and Taft was rich in detail and imagery, and interwove facts and poetic descriptions, all of which made this (mind you, it's a 60 hour historical account) delight to listen to and one you don't want to put down.

Back on track!
Revisado: 01-30-15
Book 2 (the previous version) was good, but came out a bit slow. This book picked it back up! Funny, yet enthralling! And, of course, much better than the TV series.
