Disgusting plot twist

Hated our main characters choices and fall from grace. What a descent into the muck.

Don’t - just don’t
Revisado: 03-13-19
I wish I’d read the reviews before purchasing. As a Kathryn Croft fan I didn’t vet this. Awful characters - idiot protagonist - constantly made me want to bang my head onto my desk at the stupidity. Ugh.

Historia
Elsa is seven years old and different. Her grandmother is 77 years old and crazy, standing-on-the-balcony-firing-paintball-guns-at-men-who-want-to-talk-about-Jesus crazy. She is also Elsa's best and only friend. At night Elsa takes refuge in her grandmother's stories, in the Land of Almost-Awake and the Kingdom of Miamas, where everybody is different and nobody needs to be normal.

Ridiculous over the top eye rolling dramatics
Revisado: 03-26-17
Despite the good reviews - this book was awful. From the over dramatic narration, to completely unlikable characters throw in ridiculous plot twists and an over the top ending. Just no.

Historia
From Charlaine Harris, the best-selling author who created Sookie Stackhouse and her world of Bon Temps, Louisiana, comes a darker locale - populated by more strangers than friends. But then, that's how the locals prefer it. Welcome to Midnight, Texas, a town with many boarded-up windows and few full-time inhabitants, located at the crossing of Witch Light Road and Davy Road. It' s a pretty standard dried-up western town.

Just ok - slow going
Revisado: 09-14-16
This was a slow going book. I continued based upon listener reviews and came away with just a "meh". Feeling about it.

Narrator distracts from the book's potential
Revisado: 01-27-16
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Yes - but not as an audiobook
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
n/a
How could the performance have been better?
not speak in a false "spooky" slow mock-creeper voice for every character that wasn't the main one or making a 18 year old boy sound like a spoiled 6 year old.
Was Vanished: Greywalker, Book 4 worth the listening time?
No - it set me on edge listening to many of the characterizations
Any additional comments?
Better read than listened to.

Historia
In the course of her everyday work, career-driven assistant district attorney Nina Frost prosecutes child molesters and works determinedly to ensure that a legal system with too many loopholes keeps these criminals behind bars. But when her own five-year-old son, Nathaniel, is traumatized by a sexual assault, Nina and her husband, Caleb, a quiet and methodical stone mason, are shattered, ripped apart by an enraging sense of helplessness in the face of a futile justice system that Nina knows all too well.

Terrible protagonist
Revisado: 03-13-15
I listened to see how the story would end. Nina is a nightmare, selfish, ego-centric and you have no sympathy for the horrible situations she creates. Many times over I just wished I could slap her.

Disappointing
Revisado: 05-14-07
I really enjoyed the previous books in this series - but was not impressed with this one at ALL. I did not like many of the storylines and felt that most of the girls "growing up" experiences were NOT the types of things I would like my teen or young-adult reading about.
