Fact checking flaw.
Revisado: 04-30-25
Several times an Apache helicopter was referred to as the way Brandon and his team were transported in their efforts to rescue Rachel and others in Guyana. No way that could happen. The Apache helicopter is a gunship that only carries a crew of two, the pilot and co-pilot, and a lot of firepower. They would have needed a Blackhawk or similar helicopter which transports troops and also has decent weaponry. Please don't assume that the majority of your audience are women who wouldn't know the difference. I am a woman. I enlisted in 1976 and retired as a master sergeant after 23 years in Army aviation. During that time I performed maintenance on and was a crew chief on Uh-1 Hueys and worked on almost every type helicopter the Army has had. I was the First Sergeant of an aviation unit deployed to Desert Storm. I may have been one of the first women in the Army to follow that path but certainly not the last. Please give us the respect of doing a little fact checking.
On a positive note. Don't want you to think I'm all bad. I've enjoyed your books emencely.

Moistened lips!
Revisado: 04-27-25
Frustrating overkill of being told the character moistened his or her lips before saying something. It was pointed out over and over…so many times it was like a lame joke. I love this series, but this really became irritating. My gosh, just invest in lip balm!

The edgy, take charge attitude Letty has is great. I've loved her from the beginning in the Lucas Davenport novels. I hope John Sandford continues her story. I'll miss her if he doesn't.

Revisado: 02-01-25
Good story, but the narration was horrible. No characters sounded mad, happy, worried, nothing, nada. Hard to stay engaged with the storyline. Adjusting the speed didn't help. Surprised when I checked and there was a person narrating and not some sort of AI.

The narrator is terrible with men's voices.
Revisado: 11-03-24
The narrator's male voices are terrible. All the male voices sound like whiney adolescent boys and so closely the same it's hard to differentiate one from another. I've loved the series. That's why I've continued to listen hoping she'd get better or they'd get a new narrator. Guess there's no chance of that or it would have happened by now. Will just have to continue suffering.

Revisado: 09-06-24
Wow, Jericho Quinn has been a great read, except there is no closure to the series. Pretty much a drop kick to fans. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see a final book that let's us know something, anything. Cripes. I mean really...did everyone die after a cataclysmic melt down of the world, or did any or all of the merry band of mischief making heroes live happily ever after? inquiring minds would really like to know!!!

The absolutely worst narration I've ever had to suffer through!
Revisado: 07-20-24
First, i like this author and the story.
That being said, the story took a hit because of the narrator's over the top, loud, hysterical screeching portrayal of the female lead. What was written to be a rational, moving story about a competent woman doing a difficult job as the lead investigator for the first time became a perfect example of how NOT to present the character if she is a woman wanting to be taken seriously in this world.

Distracting background noise.
Revisado: 06-04-24
Liked. The story was very good, Gave me a feeling of what it must have been like in Sri Lanka during that terrible time not so long ago in their history. It reminds me of Hitler's regime in WW II and atrocities humans have inflicted on each other throughout time. I'm afraid humanity has not yet learned from it's past and that scares me. It should scare us all.
The narrator was excellent, but,and it's a BIG but for what I didn't like.
Didn't like, hated actually. The constant babble of voices, traffic and other irritating noise in the background overshadowed the narrator and interfered with the story. Very distracting. Not quite loud enough to be recognizable speech or whatever, but my brain would lock in on trying make sense of it. I'd miss the cues for then and now prefacing changes in the story timeline and have to go back to see what I had missed. I've listened to hundreds of recorded books and some have made limited use of sounds or music for dramatic effect, but nothing like this. I hope I never have to listen to another one like this again regardless of how good the story or narrator is.
