Great characters and plot. Seems like some parts of the story worth telling are skipped over, but the answers come eventually. Interesting combination of a magical fairytale with collapse of humanity.

Narrator difficult to listen to

The plot was good with an interesting story. Got through about 3 chapters before I couldn’t listen anymore. The narrator is very monotone, starts every sentence in a somewhat high voice and says the last word or two in a slightly lower voice, over and over and over. He always sounds breathless. Couldn’t finish it unfortunately, might buy the book and read it myself though.

Amazing

I enjoyed every minute of this well written and perfectly narrated book. The first two books were so good that I didn’t possibly think this one could top them, but I was wrong. The story line is complex but easy to follow, the characters are very well defined and remain true to character through all three novels. The fighting scenes are so well written that I felt like I was there, watching them fight. My only disappointment is that I have to wait for the next book to be published! I simply can’t wait!

Loved the story idea, overall disappointing

What bothered me most was the portrayal of the 15 year old girl to be more like a 10 year old, she was very immature and a girl who has been fighting for her life in the kind of wasteland they describe would not be that immature. Also that there are several female characters playing huge parts in the story and only one, yet it’s narrated by a guy, was disappointing. He did a pretty good job though. I feel like it was an okay read, but not something I’d recommend to a friend.
