Historia
On the afternoon of April 4, 1977, Georgia housewife Sadie Burkhalter Hurst looked out her front door to see a frantic stranger running toward her, his clothes ablaze, and, behind him, the mangled fuselage of a passenger plane that had just crashed in her yard. The plane, a Southern Airways DC-9-31, had been carrying 81 passengers and four crew members en route to Atlanta when it entered a massive thunderstorm cell that turned into a dangerous cocktail of rain, hail, and lightning. Forced down onto a highway, the plane cut a swath of devastation through the small town of New Hope.

Wow!
Revisado: 04-26-23
This was quite a story! A combination of events led to a tragic occurrence. The best part of any tragic occurrence is the learning that comes from investigations into the event that , hopefully, will lead to preventative measures to keep from a reoccurrence.

How to Read Daniel

Historia
Beyond the familiar lions' den and fiery furnace, much of the book of Daniel seems baffling to modern readers. The first half recounts stories full of ancient Near Eastern protocol and imperial court drama; the second half features apocalyptic visions of monstrous beasts and cosmic conflict. Many Christians misunderstand or simply avoid the book. But failing to read Daniel well means missing a critical part of God's message to us.

A Well Written Treatment of the Book of Daniel
Revisado: 03-18-23
This is a very thoughtful and well written treatment of the book of Daniel. I particularly appreciate the emphasis on successfully living in a culture that is toxic to our faith. Thank you Dr. Longman!

He Tells It Well
Revisado: 03-17-23
Although I never was a fan of Cheech and Chong because I failed to find anything funny in their brand of comedy, I came away with a better understanding of them from the reading of this biographical work. He told his story well.

Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

The Title Says It All
Revisado: 03-17-23
The title truly says it all in this book. I see a person born into a position not of his choosing, someone not willing to fit the mold he was cast into. He wants validation and doesn't seem to be getting it as he feels he should.

Historia
Epidemiologist Steffanie Strathdee and her husband, psychologist Tom Patterson, were vacationing in Egypt when Tom came down with a stomach bug. What at first seemed like a case of food poisoning quickly turned critical, and by the time Tom had been transferred via emergency medevac to the world-class medical center at UC San Diego, where both he and Steffanie worked, blood work revealed why modern medicine was failing: Tom was fighting one of the most dangerous, antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the world.

This was a most incredible story that kept me turning pages as fast as I could. A remarkable convergence of events and people brought about a breakthrough in medical treatment that could have occurred no other way. A great read.

Not For Me
Revisado: 01-03-21
The title was catchy and I was eager to listen, that is until I hit the play button! In the first seven minutes all I heard was idle chatter interspersed with foul language and barely a mention of the story supposedly covered in this podcast. I have no idea if the story was ever covered because I found the presentation intolerable and shut it off. Very disappointing!
