Historia
After a traumatic injury took him off the job, prosecutor Solomon Shepard is back to work, teaming up with Sheriff Billie Gray to hunt down Utah’s most dangerous criminals. Shepard has spent years away from crime scenes and courtrooms, but one of those criminals still holds a grudge. Alonso Hafeez is out of prison after eleven years, and he’s determined to prove that Shepard tried him for a crime he didn’t commit. And he’s got something special planned: kidnapping Shepard and forcing him to revisit Hafeez’s case in an elaborately staged retrial.

I like this series
Revisado: 12-19-23
The second book in the Shepard & Gray Series where Solomon Shephard is a prosecuting attorney recovering from the deadly courtroom attack that almost ended his career and Billie Gray a sheriff who he teamed up with in the first edition.
Felon, Alonso Hafeez is out of prison after eleven years believing he was wrongly incarcerated after convicted of a crime he didn't commit at the hands of Shephard. He kidnaps Solomon and engages an elaborate to re - create the trial, hell - bent on proving his innocence.
I enjoy Victor Methos' book and enjoyed the first book in this series but found there was a lot of violence in this edition.

Holly rules!
Revisado: 10-31-23
This is the third book in the series featuring Holly Gibney. Private investigator Holly Gibney works to solve the disappearance of Bonnie, a girl from a small town in the American Midwest, at the request of Bonnie's mother. While Holly is reluctant to take on the case, she eventually caves in and decides to explore it. Set in 2020–2021, the book follows Holly as she uncovers an emerging pattern of disappearances linked with a bizarre local elderly couple involved in dark practices in order to attempt to retain their youth. Holly also features a subplot involving Holly's own personal reaction to living through the COVID-19 pandemic, including her views on subjects such as vaccinations, climate change and Donald Trump. Holly's colleague Pete is ill in the book, leaving Holly working solo on her case.
I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator did a fair job although I missed Will Patton's voice for Holly during the Mr. Mercedes trilogy. It was a long listen and I had trouble keeping track of characters and timelines until late in the book.
Overall, I liked the book. The Morris' were creepy and without giving the ending away, Stephen showed how dark he can make a story.

It’s hard to find an employer who doesn’t ask too many questions about my past. Good read!
Revisado: 09-02-23
This is my fourth Freida McFadden book. After reading the Housemaid, I couldn't wait to listen to this one.
The plot: Our protagonist Wilhelmina “Millie” Calloway, from the first book is back. In this episode she is hired by Douglas Garrick, a very rich tech entrepreneur, as the housemaid in his very posh penthouse apartment in Manhattan. He tells Millie not to go to the bedroom where his wife spends most of her time as she is very ill. Since it is hard to find an employer who doesn’t ask too many questions about her past, she is thankful to have a job that pays so well. She learns however, that nothing is as it seems.
Good story. The narrator was excellent and it is worth the listen (or read).

This is my first Brian Freeman audiobook but not likely to be my last. It kept me interested through the twists and turns. Unlike other listens where I ask, "get to it will ya," I was patient and looked forward to the book navigating through them. AND, January LaVoy was an awesome narrator.

Historia
In the lockdown ward of a psychiatric hospital, Dr. Nadine Lavoie is in her element. She has the tools to help people, and she has the desire: Healing broken families is what she lives for. But Nadine doesn’t want to look too closely at her own past because there are whole chunks of her life that are black holes. It takes all her willpower to tamp down her recurrent claustrophobia, and her daughter, Lisa, is a runaway who has been on the streets for seven years. When a distraught woman, Heather Simeon, is brought into the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit after a suicide attempt, Nadine gently coaxes her story out of her - and learns of some troubling parallels to her own life.

What happened to Chevy Stevens?
Revisado: 05-22-16
Would you try another book from Chevy Stevens and/or Joyce Bean?
Chevy Stevens, likely. Joyce Bean, not so much.
Has Always Watching turned you off from other books in this genre?
No. I don't know how this is considered a medical thriller. I was hopeful for a better story in a psychiatric facility but the development of "recovered memories" was so lame.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
Her voice was grating and her pronunciations of words drove me crazy.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Hmmm....can't think of any. I was glad when it was over.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Slow But Steady
Revisado: 11-11-14
Would you listen to 14 again? Why?
Yes. I thought the author wrote an endearing story that captured my interest from the beginning. I liked the characters, found them believable and enjoyed their banter. I loved Ray Porter's performance. I really thought he captured the characters essence in his different voice.
What was one of the most memorable moments of 14?
There were many, however most of them were associated with the team working together to solve the buildings mystery. It did have shades of Lost in it.
Which character – as performed by Ray Porter – was your favorite?
That's a hard question. I liked all the characters and their difference eccentricities.I think Nate stood out as the leader and the person who kept things moving along.

Historia
In a ruined and toxic landscape, a community exists in a giant silo underground, hundreds of stories deep. There, men and women live in a society full of regulations they believe are meant to protect them. Sheriff Holston, who has unwaveringly upheld the silo’s rules for years, unexpectedly breaks the greatest taboo of all: He asks to go outside.

Worth the credit
Revisado: 01-16-14
What did you love best about Wool?
Despite not knowing how these people wound up in the silo or how they set up their society, it was a good story.
Who was your favorite character and why?
I don't know if I had a "favorite" character. I liked many of the characters in the book for who they were and their contributions. I really liked the voice Amanda gave Solo and looked forward to hearing from him.
Have you listened to any of Amanda Sayle’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, but I'd listen to her again.
Any additional comments?
I listened to this book a while ago and listened again after buying the second book. I was rapt and listened to the book any chance I could. I hope the other installments continue to hold my interest like this one did.

Revisado: 11-01-12
If you could sum up Dark Places in three words, what would they be?
Intense, unpredictable and have I said intense
What did you like best about this story?
The way Gillian brought out and developed the characters. The story flowed smoothly and kept you interested in finding out what happens next.
Which character ??? as performed by the narrators ??? was your favorite?
Libby by far. It is her story. I really liked how realistically her character was, that is, a woman who suffered a horrific trauma. I thought she was believable.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
There were so many moments...but mostly Libby....
