An Ex-Military and a Mob Enforcer! What a pairing and I am so in love with this trope. You can expect to read about ambiguous characters, characters who may have questionable morals, things we might be familiar with when it comes to the Mafia.

Jake wants a family. When he lost his leg during his tour and lost his Uncle Al two months after that, he was all alone, no more family. Rebuilding his Uncle's gym has given him new purpose and allowed him to form a new kind of family, community. And just like his Uncle and his Father, he thrives on it. When the local mob started pressuring them to sell their properties, he began to organize community meetings so everyone can air their grievances and they could help each other find solution. And then they started to received eviction notices. Most of these people have been living there since they were children themselves, and now they have their own families.

Max Russo is in town to find out what happened to a missing shipment of drugs. His Stepbrother Derek is pointing to one man who could have done it, Jake, who owns Elm Street Gym. But the more Max learn about Jake, the more he doesn't believe that he is the one who took the drugs. And he is becoming attached to Jake the more he spends time with him.

These two are meant for each other. Max has been wanting to get out from Ricky Russo's thumb, he wants to have his own family that thrives on helping and building each other up, a total opposite to what Ricky is imposing.

Mr. Mike Peterman was able to deliver the necessary voices for each of the characters, especially those of Max and Jake. We know how difficult it can be to voice over a few characters and to stay true to each and every inflection you have assigned to each. An avid reader could make everything he read alive through his imagination but listening to a book being narrated somehow makes it more vibrant, and it just becomes more!

I love this trope. I love the mystery, the opposites attract feeling. I love the way this tale was written and I cannot wait for the next book.

Marcus has been alive for more than a century and a half! He and his brothers all became vampires because of their mother!

Ethan’s whole family was murdered by vampires, or so he thought! He wants to know who killed them hence the quest for revenge! He allied himself with a group that he thought would help him exact his revenge, but he was very wrong.

Will Ethan learn that not all vampires are out to kill humans? Marcus and his brothers are a different clan of vampires. They are peaceful, respectful and protective of their family.

This is an amazing start of a new series. It is full of action, fun and sexy times. I love Marcus and Ethan, they are both sweet and beautiful! But I also love Rafe, Bel and Winter. I can’t wait for their stories!

With the voice of Mr. Kenneth Obi bringing the characters to life has given the story a whole new level of reality, it has given it life! Voicing the different characters takes a lot of art and diverseness, you have to be confident enough to use different voices for the different characters in the story and Mr. Obi was able to accomplish that and so much more! Congratulations Ms. Jocelynn Drake and Mr. Kenneth Obi for another amazing story!

Rocko has been in a never-ending party with booze and drugs for a long time. To keep the demons away, he felt he had to drink and drugged himself away. At the point of being kicked out of the band, he had to sober up and earn his friends’ and Lachlan’s trust again.

Lachlan is one of the richest man Rocko has ever met, and ever since meeting the members of the band, especially Rocko, he has felt this pull and attraction to the “bad boy” of the famous rock band.

As they start to spend more time together and got to know each other more, they start to see how wrong they were in their perception of each other.

Michael Pauley has done justice in voicing the different characters in the story, I love how Lachlan sounds, even the vulnerability of Rocko/Riley sounds sweet and adorable, and how Benjamin sounds so stuffy. Listening to a story in audio is a totally different experience, and I am loving it, Michael Pauley has made this story come alive with the different voices he used for each character. Congratulations Michael Pauley and Annabella Michaels! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
