Historia
After an explosive attack by his former sect master Dea leaves many of Lars's companions dead and Yumi captured, Lars is forced to return to the sect only to find that some of his closest and most precious allies have also been taken hostage and imprisoned by the schemes of vicious, vengeful elders. Ending felt abrubt
Revisado: 10-11-23
I'm a fan of Charles Dean. and have been on a handful of journeys of his. This series was just ok, though. There was a little too much Harem fantasy action in this one. I usually don't mind it, but it's something to consider in books 3 and 4 of this series and where/how you listen to it. My biggest gripe was the ending. up until the last hour and a half, I was looking forward to another book in this series. Like him hunting down the sect that took his mom after what happens leading up to the ending. The book was leading into a good antagonist arc with one of Os friends. Then it just ends the series out of no where, pisses on the grave of all that arc building, with a non battle, and Lars finally getting powerful enough to go hero status for his dear old mom for a final villain showdown. It seems like Mr Dean didn't want to write in this world anymore, just short cutted to the happy ending, and it feels bad.

Historia
Alec began his 18th birthday with the temple monks. By day's end, he discovers he possesses magical abilities. Except his magic is unique. He doesn't require grimoires and incantations to cast spells. Alec's magic is entirely natural. He can, somehow, absorb the elements from objects and manipulate them according to his will. This power is incredible, but difficult to master. If he's going to learn how to use his natural magic, it'll take the tutelage of Archmage Diamondspear, one of the most adept magic users in the kingdom.

Good story, but the books need to be bundled.
Revisado: 10-17-22
I'm on book 4 of this series so far and my complaint is that each book, doesn't feel like it's an individual book. There usually is one small conflict each book builds too, but it's not really individualistic in the sense of breaks or conclusions. Like 1st week of school is one book, they fight something end book. Next book is second week of school and now they learn magic and fight someone else, only for the next book to start the day after essentially. Most books chapters have more break or separation than this series books have between them. These should really be sold in 3 to 4 book bundles on audible, $24 for one is not worth.
