Wasn’t a bad listen
Revisado: 04-04-25
A friends to lovers book.
There’s spice.
Celebrity appearances.
I listened to this and I love these two narrators. Everything I hear from them is top tier for me.
But the story was okay.
It’s very predictable but being predictable doesn’t make a book bad.
There was just not a wow factor in this one for me that I felt like I thought made this a top read for me.
There were some parts that made me chuckle a little but I feel that if you are looking to check this book out I would go with the audio.
Again not bad just kind of blends in with similar books.

Historia
The story opens with the apparently accidental drowning of a sixth form student in the Norfolk countryside. As a matter of routine, or so it seems, the case passes across the desk of Detective Sergeant Smith, recently returned to work after an internal investigation into another case that has led to tensions between officers at Kings Lake police headquarters. As an ex-DCI, Smith could have retired by now, and it is clear that some of his superiors wish that he would do so.

I don’t know if it’s because I read the audiobook, but this book was just OK ….
I feel like I didn’t get a lot out of this book. There were some points within the story where it was like. Oh OK. This caught my attention but for the most part, not really. Which is unfortunate because this book is highly rated so I figured it was worth a shot and it was. Just not particularly for me.

….
I listened to this on Audible along with the first book Twelve Slays of Christmas…
The first book was fine. This book wasn’t bad but it was pretty much the same story line.
I’m wondering how the heck Holly just happens to find herself face to face with the killer two years in a row… and both killers just happen to leave her messages…
And she’s not a cop she’s just curious and just figures everything out….
Anyways. lol

Fan-freaking-tastic
Revisado: 12-16-24
I was actually afraid to get into this book. I did not know how much I wanted to be dedicated to a book.. or series... That’s why I put it off…. But… I will say it was worth the wait for me. 😬
I listened to this book on Audible and I have to say Rebecca Soler did such a great job narrating the story because it was absolutely beautiful. I really felt drawn into the book and I loved all the emotion and everything she gave into this book. It made me very happy to see. Fan-freaking-tastic 10/10.
Moving on, I did end up buying this book because I genuinely enjoyed the story. Normally if I listen to a book, I will buy the book if I like it and it sits on my bookshelf.. BUT in this case, I bought the book to actually read. For me, that is a big deal because I NEVER really reread a book.
I’m not gonna go into a whole lot of detail with this book but I don’t read a lot of fantasy. But this one I would recommend if you have not read it. I feel like I’m the last person ever to read/listen this book, but I highly recommend it.
If you were someone who likes audiobooks, I highly, highly, highly, highly suggest listening to it because it’s a whole experience. I did not listen to the dramatized version because I don’t really want all the extraness.
This book gives me a vibe of. I would love to see this on a big screen somewhere. But then also taking that back because it might ruin the experience for me. Lol
I liked all the characters, but I wasn’t really a fan of Dain he just felt really off me and for obvious reasons. But yeah, I love dragons personally and this was just fantastic.
I have no idea what I’m gonna actually read the book, but I am still looking forward to it. I guess I have to move onto IRON FLAME.

Excuse me..
Revisado: 12-14-24
Excuse me, umm WILD
I don’t even know where to begin with a review for this because there was a lot happening. I don’t know what I want to pinpoint on or what I even wanna say. All I know is that this was a good one. Just the whole story right up until the end was great.
There were definitely some parts where I was just kind of uncomfortable with what was happening in the story, especially when it came to the girls and how they were treated. But then to turn around near the end and it be like this was all made up. It was like “excuse me, I’m sorry what.. “
I’m a little speechless right now cause I just finished it.
I have no words.
I would recommend this book 99.99%

Just Wild
Revisado: 12-10-24
First off… WILD
Addie is wild out here doing the absolute most.
Nathanial is Addie’s English teacher and also her love interest. She’s 16 and he’s 38
Eva is Addie’s Math teacher and also Nathanial’s wife…
Everyone in the story is just cheating.. lol basically.
Sum it all up Nathaniel has a history that was uncovered nearly the end of the book of dating or sleeping with his students. Him and his wife have an unromantic relationship.
Eva is cheating on Nathaniel with this guy from the shoe store… Jay
Anyways so basically Nathaniel had this grand idea that he needs to get rid of his wife after she discovered him and Addie kissing in HIS CLASSROOM during school hours… she took pictures as evidence and told him to leave, quit teaching at the school and break it off with Addie…
Addie is a little weird she had an incident the previous year with another teacher she was stalking… he got fired….
Anyways she f’d around and found out.. left for dead…
Side Note: She also killed her dad.. pushed him down the steps but that’s all we really hear about that and Mr. Tuttle.. I kind of wish we had more of a backstory on those two incidents.
Anyways, skipping to chapter 59 we get a new point of view. Nate.
I don’t know how I feel about the point of you honestly, the first thing I thought about was Addie is definitely a pawn in whatever he has planned.
The part that got me is that once Eva was knocked out and Nate try to strangle her, Addie and him went to go bury here…..
And then he left Addie there!!!!!
I’m sorry HE LEFT HER THERE…
Not dismissing the fact, but he did. He also threw her under the bus with the cops. First of all throw the whole man away.
Everyone is acting wild in this book, but I was here for it.
Fast-forward to chapter 73..
THE POEM..
FOR YEARS!!!! I’m sorry again THROW THE WHOLE MAN AWAY… AWAYYYYYYY
JAIL IMMEDIATELY.
Anyway, skipping towards the ending…
Addie and Hudson are like friends again after not talking for like a year… Eva survives and Hudson seems happy that he gets a text from someone who used to visit the shoe store.
It’s not said it, but definitely thinking that Hudson is Jay’s son. So as she umm sleeping with father and son…
THROW EVERYONE AWAY !!!!!!

Eh I give it a 3.25
Revisado: 12-10-24
The inmate follows Brooke, who is a nurse practitioner and has a son who is 10 named Josh.
Josh’s father Shane is doing life in prison because he tried to murder Brooke 11 years prior…
This book has a past in a present plot. It’s through the majority of the book. I didn’t find it too annoying like I have with other books.
Brooke got pregnant when she was 18 and was forced to move so that she could keep the pregnancy secret. When she moves back, she ends up working at the jail and runs into Shane. Shane has no idea that he is a father, but he warn Brooke to stay away from Tim.
11 years ago, Tim was part of a six person friend group. Brooke has known him since they were like four. And they considered each other their best friends even though Tim was like in love with her.
Anyways, then three of the friends were murdered at Shane’s house and Brooke trying to figure out if she put the right person behind bars. Which end up doing after going back-and-forth trying to figure out if it was or if it was Tim.
This story had a plot twist near the end that I was surprisingly not that interested to. I suspected while Shane was in jail he may have some in on the outside. Which was his mom and also Josh’s babysitter.
I skipped through but this one was not my favorite.
Shane and his mom end up not making it in the end and the epilogue we hear from someone who has not yet had a chance to speak in a chapter.
