Historia
The long-awaited sequel to Jake’s Magical Market is finally here—and now with more market! Well, not quite yet. First, Jake has to survive a perilous trek through time if he ever hopes to return home to his friends, his market, and his former world. The last time we saw our intrepid hero, Jake had barely managed to escape being trapped on a dead version of his own world. Using a combination of his new powers, he threw himself backward through time, back to when the god that trapped him first rose to power.

Another great book
Revisado: 12-27-24
So first and most importantly, 1*, not 5/5/4. BLAND VANILLA ICE CREAM?! How do I report a title.
Joking aside, there's... a LOT in the book. While that's good, it's also... A lot. The last small chunk of the last book was just massive change after massive change. Loved the book, but the last few chapters felt like they should have been the start of this book. Now we've seen a card system, a meditation to directly channel the world's energy, and now a third system. I like all 3 individually, I even like all 3 together. But it often feels like we've just started getting into it, (1 card to level 10. Finally getting "automatic" energy channelling etc) before that becomes obsolete, and we move to a new system, not just an expansion of the current one.
Having said all that, the story is still exceptional. Good writing, good characters, good (individual) systems, and my only real complaint is going to be when I have to wait for the next books after book 3!

And we finally see the curse. And even though I've already ready it once on royal road, and again on Kindle, something about hearing it brought it to the next level! SHAME!!!
It's a great book, we see character flaws and development continue. Elaine isn't suddenly perfect or insufferable, she's a more thoughtful of others character, Iona isn't without her flaws and draws, Auri, well she's to Brrrretty to do anything wrong so I guess it's good she's a perfect lil firecracker.
As always eagerly looking forward to the next installment.

Historia
Elaine's mission through the fairy ring went horribly wrong, and she finds herself in Pallos once again—over 20,000 years in the future. All she has are her friends, her magic, and the clothes on her back. Fighting their way out of the wilderness, they quickly meet Iona, a wandering paladin of the Valkyrie order. She's heading to the School of Sorcery and Spellcraft, and Elaine joins her: To learn wizardry. To figure out her place in the world and where she wants to go next. To get her third class. To kiss cute women. To eat some tasty mangos. To read books, at long last.

A lovely listen

We get to see a whole new side to our main character, how she handles a peaceful life. Her experiences in school, her desire for all the knowledge yet having to temper that with a work-school-social balance. Loved the performance, as I've come to expect.
The real icing on the cake is since I've read the books that are farther along, seeing all the set up and foreshadowing. Some is subtle enough that I don't remember when I read it to when it happens so re experiencing the book brings an extra appreciation to the story Selkie writes.
Can't wait for more of everything!

Historia
After adventuring beyond the wall for over a year, Elaine has her triumphant return home! A high level doesn't mean all challenges are solved, though. She's got a brand new hatchling to try and keep alive. General Augustus staged a military coup, becoming Emperor Augustus. Julius is missing. Artemis is enslaved. Will she be able to keep Auri alive? Free Artemis? Find out what happened with Julius? And can she avoid the machinations of the new Emperor? Most importantly—Is her family still alive?

Amazing as always
Revisado: 05-16-23
The story of Elaine continues. She continues to mature, become more thoughtful and aware of herself and surroundings. We see the influence Julia had on her, yet still Julia having the more experience in being "mom". We're given rather startling events right in the beginning, which lead to the next chapter in Elaine's story. The epilogue was still exceptional and I knew it was coming. My only complaint will be the same I've had for every book. Having to wait (eagerly) for the next book!! I don't want to spoil anything, but cannot recommend it enough!

Historia
You are no one. Level zero. Empty of mind and memory. Even your past has been stripped from your brain by the inscrutable System. A long, difficult road lies between you and remembering any part of who you are. A road punctuated with one death after another. You are too puny to survive by might alone. Information is the single resource that might keep you alive, but the brainless “digis” have none of it. Only those with experience can give you what you need, but most care nothing about you or your plight. In fact, some make it their mission to kill you.

What?
Revisado: 09-06-22
The book starts well enough until the 3 hour mark when we meet our first female character and the MC / author goes OFF for no reason about how she's worthless because she's not attractive enough, she can't have a brain because she's so ugly, she's trying to save both of their lives and he's just an aggressive prick for no reason. Then she points out she'll be raped and he'll be killed he laughs and says you get it for free, champions the guys that are going to do it because he'd rather have sex with the sack of manure tied to her. Throw the book and whole author out.
Must say the narrator himself was quite pleasant to listen to though.
