Full of things we may know but have not articulated to ourselves, Too Soon Old, Too Late Smart is a gentle and generous alternative to the trial-and-error learning that makes wisdom such an expensive commodity. For everyone who feels a sense of urgency that the clock ticks and still we aren't the person we'd like to be, it offers solace, guidance, and hope.

Gordon was a very wise man
Revisado: 02-13-17
And with that wisdom a experience he tells a very very good and story. I could not put this down and it brought a few tears to the eyes of this old salt who hadn't shed and for decades. As the proverb says "With all your getting, get wisdom". Big dose shared in this book.

HRC disgusts me; However so did this dumb book.
Revisado: 06-30-16
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
Buyer beware. No insights into the Clintons' immorality whatsoever.
What could Gary J. Byrne have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Leave it blank so it could be used as scrap paper.
What didn’t you like about Brian Troxell’s performance?
He wasted his time with this toilet paper.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
None whatsoever. Unless you want to read the boring life story of this author.
Any additional comments?
Very petty book about the life of vulgar Gary Byrne with a few petty incidents about the Clintons. Nothing much here.

Consider the $20 bill. It has no more value, as a simple slip of paper, than Monopoly money. Yet even children recognize that tearing one into small pieces is an act of inconceivable stupidity. What makes a $20 bill actually worth $20? In the third volume of his best-selling Naked series, Charles Wheelan uses this seemingly simple question to open the door to the surprisingly colorful world of money and banking.

Shilling for Obama, Krugman, The Fed, Bernanke et al.
Revisado: 06-25-16
Would you try another book from Charles Wheelan and/or Jonathan Davis?
Some original thought: Not much. Much of the book is an attempted justification of The Fed , Bernanke, Obama, Geitner and Krug. Frequently he references the NYT as if that is a fountain of Truth. He seems to locked in to the standard way of thinking that has caused so much trouble and debasement of the dollar.
Would you recommend Naked Money to your friends? Why or why not?
Read this if you are a big fan of Bernacke et al or if you are a leftist looking for soothing analyses of how your the bankers and elected elitist liberals on both sides of the aisle have taken our country to the brink of disaster.
Which scene was your favorite?
Whenever he wasn't quoting Bernanke or Krugman.
Could you see Naked Money being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
In Hollywood. Of course. Perfect.

The entire corrupt Banking-Treasury-Fed-liberal government gang of criminals. Sorry I bought it. This dude even tries to justify the hedge funds, the bail outs, and Dodd Franks.
Good book for Obama so he can still keep believing in his own fairy tales. Yuk. Going to wash up after being sullied by this piece of work.

Amazon Audible Destroyed this Great Recording
Revisado: 01-13-16
What disappointed you about The KJV Listener's Audio Bible?
Originally the were 37 Chapters each labeled with the Title - Example "Chapter 1 - Genesis". Then Amazon/Audible removed the Title of the Chapter forcing the reader to try
to remember the name of the numbered chapter. Good luck with that if your searching for a specific chapter by name. The final death knell when when Amazon/Audible actually the chapter numbers and artificially changed the Bible in 19 Parts. So, now you can not even find a specific chapter not to mention the previously deleted titles. Obviously someone there at Amazon/Audible has zero insight into how people actually read and re-read the Bible. They think its like, say a Michael Connelly novel where you start at chapter 1 and go to the end - rather than reading and re-reading different chapters of you choice in a varied sequence over a lifetime. The dummies destroyed the uttility of this great reading by Max McLean. Overwhelmingly STUPID!

Another Know-It-All Liberal Slanders the US
Revisado: 11-06-12
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
The 99% of course, which I imagine isn't 99% but just a few pot-heads here and there in Manhattan and Paris.
What could David Byrne have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
He could have just foregone the expansive liberal thesis about the big bad masters of the universe keeping the heel to the neck of all the genius unknown garage bands of the world.
How could the performance have been better?
David could have read it himself. That would have been something. An audiobook as performance art.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
He began brilliantly with a discussion/theory about how recorded music and performance are so very different. That's what I expected - not some rehashing about the abusive 1%.
Any additional comments?
David. Stay away from the politics - all that is so temporal. Do the big picture and the deep thought in the future.

Not de Tocqueville
Revisado: 08-10-11
One can almost hear George III thinking out loud about the loss of all the vast open spaces of America. There is a total lack of any sense of awe of America in this Englishman's very long book. He strives to show how American Exceptionalism was merely the result of happy and brutal coincidence. Reading between the lines we see a typical European Liberal (in the modern vile sense of the word) green with envy that they lost their colonies.
I am about 15 hours into this long thing. Perhaps if he traveled the country like de Tocqueville he might have gotten a real sense of the American people. Instead we can imagine him up to his elbows in obscure research sources at Cambridge or at Cambridge West (Harvard).
So, to read this, you must endure continual subtle and overt leftist bias and his criticism of what is thinks is the American tendency to over react to imaginary threats (i.e. the silly red scar of the 1950s - which we have known since the fall of the USSR was real indeed).
I suppose this tendency to graft one's political biases onto past events is what makes many history books highly suspect.
But if you can hold your nose and get past the liberal bias, the book is interesting and has some original in-sights.
Too bad it was read by some lady with a stuffy British accent. This is another substantial negative.

When and how did the universe begin? Why are we here? What is the nature of reality? Is the apparent “grand design” of our universe evidence of a benevolent creator who set things in motion—or does science offer another explanation? In The Grand Design, Stephen Hawking and Leonard Mlodinow present the most illuminating scientific thinking about these and other abiding mysteries of the universe, in nontechnical language marked by brilliance and simplicity.

Hawking's Weak Attempt at Nullify God
Revisado: 01-19-11
This is bit of self-plagarism from his earlier works which were much more comprehensive and comprehendible. A feeble attempt to explain M theory. Finally, to me the book seemed to be a vehicle for Hawkings to declare that there is no God and that astro/nuclear physics proves the fact. Nothing new here except for great cynicism from a man who, in an alternate universe, awakes each day thankful for the Grace of God.
