2 minutes to read out a website address?!
Revisado: 12-28-24
Exactly what is the point of reading out every little piece of a website for exactly two minutes and nine seconds? Stupid and annoying.

Love the story, awful narrator
Revisado: 11-30-24
I love this story, it’s been a go to for me to read at least once a year and this was the first time I listened to it as a treat for myself. Sadly it was anything but a treat. The narration is horrible it sounds like an old war narrator trying to bring his career forward into a new genre and it doesn’t work. There is no emotion, the static nature of his phrasing is distracting and the awful attempt at tonal variation for the different characters is so poor it’s distracting. Really disappointed with this and I won’t listen to anything else this voice actor has done.

Historia
Casey Fletcher, a recently widowed actress trying to escape a streak of bad press, has retreated to the peace and quiet of her family’s lake house in Vermont. Armed with a pair of binoculars and several bottles of bourbon, she passes the time watching Tom and Katherine Royce, the glamorous couple living in the house across the lake. They make for good viewing—a tech innovator, Tom is powerful; and a former model, Katherine is gorgeous.

Just ok, horrible narration
Revisado: 11-24-24
I was so excited for this book but it was ruined from the get go because of the horrible narration. It’s difficult to believe that any of the characters are their age groups because you have an 80 year old narrator. For the main character to be in their 30s it was not believable, she became a crusty old lady which just deadened the story and made her seem overbearing. I wanted to love this after the reviews but I couldn’t finish it. I am going to read the book itself as this was a waste of a credit.

Absolute garbage this is not a typical book
Revisado: 11-11-23
I bought this thinking that it would be another great book in the series, but it is one short story that’s related to the series and then to absolute trash pieces of writing. They have no relevance at all. I wish I could get my money back.

Historia
A woman has vanished while digging a dinosaur bone bed in the remote wilderness of Canada. Somehow, the only evidence has made its way to the inbox of Chief Medical Examiner Kay Scarpetta, over two thousand miles away in Boston. She has no idea why. But as events unfold with alarming speed, Scarpetta begins to suspect that the paleontologist’s disappearance is connected to a series of crimes much closer to home: a gruesome murder, inexplicable tortures, and trace evidence from the last living creatures of the dinosaur age.

Enough about the damn buttons!
Revisado: 08-24-23
Fifteen minutes of story about buttons. I couldn’t get past this it was enough to turn me off the series completely. This is so slow it’s like she’s run out of stories to tell and micro focuses on stupid things like damn buttons.

Narrator is horrific
Revisado: 04-13-23
I was going through the Scarpetta series, and this was naturally the next book. I wish I downloaded a preview because the narrator is absolutely horrific the cadence in which she speaks makes it sound like she’s consistently out of breath and overly dramatic. I wish I could get my money back or at least a credit back for this it really is awful to listen to here the only way that you can get through. This story is the half listen and try not to pay attention to the voice. I’d recommend anyone going through the series skip this one.

What a load of rubbish
Revisado: 12-26-22
This book definitely paled in comparison to the first. What a waste of time and money. Do not bother it’s not worth it and spends half the time focusing on creation of life and how we apparently choose which parents we want to be born to. Hogwash.
