Historia
With unforgettable performances such as Moses in The Ten Commandments, the anguished astronaut George Taylor in 1968's Planet of the Apes, and the eponymous Ben-Hur - for which he won an Academy Award - Charlton Heston cemented his place in the pantheon of 20th-century Hollywood royalty. But his fame as an actor was matched by his political activism. A Democrat in his early years, Heston became a staunch supporter of Richard Nixon and Reagan Republicanism.

I found this to be very interesting and informative. I’d always been a fan of Hestons work. From his biblical films, to my favorites of science fiction. At the end of this I’m sadden that he’s more remembered for being the president of the NRA and the Michael Moore incident, rather than his body of work as a film star.

How she ended up being Elvira
Revisado: 04-11-24
Can’t really say anything bad about it. It was good, at times pretty revealing. From a guy aspect she had a lot of bad experiences, but not all guys are bad. As a fan of hers since the early 80’s and still to this day, I’d recommend the book, or audio version. Hearing her read it as with all autobiographies that are read by the person who wrote it, made it way better.

Historia
When Carrie Fisher recently discovered the journals she kept during the filming of the first Star Wars movie, she was astonished to see what they had preserved—plaintive love poems, unbridled musings with youthful naiveté, and a vulnerability that she barely recognized. Today, her fame as an author, actress, and pop-culture icon is indisputable, but in 1977, Carrie Fisher was just a teenager with an all-consuming crush on her costar, Harrison Ford.

Miss you Princess
Revisado: 03-21-24
I read the book when it came out, and somewhere over the years lost it. So now I work from home and decided to audible it. Hearing Carrie’s voice tell her story was both amazing and sad. Several times she references “until the day I die”. Not realizing that the time came oh so soon. I was suppose to meet and greet her at a convention in mid 2015 that she was unable to make it to. I missed my chance. I never had a chance to say thank you for my childhood. I’m glad to have heard that someone else said that to her. I realize that at the soon to be age of 60, I miss Carrie Fisher. I didn’t know her, or have some weird fantasy about her, but still having heard her last words as she finished made me realize that. Great book, highly recommend.

This is Koenig's story from growing up as the neurotic child of Russian immigrants in 1940s Manhattan through his rise to Star Trek fame as Pavel Chekov, Russian navigator of the U.S.S. Enterprise, and beyond. Koenig's very human narrative is full of the kind of insecurities and quirks to which anyone can relate. With wry wit, striking candor, and a true gift for storytelling, Koenig takes us on a sometimes bumpy but often hilarious trip through his galaxy.

This was bad. I found nothing entertaining about these stories. Not one. Certain Point of View - the first one was really good, Empire was mediocre, but this one is bad. Don’t recommend it at all.

Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner first crossed paths as actors on the set of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. Little did they know that their next roles, in a new science-fiction television series, would shape their lives in ways no one could have anticipated. In 79 television episodes of Star Trek and six feature films, they grew to know each other more than most friends could ever imagine. Over the course of half a century, Shatner and Nimoy saw each other through personal and professional highs and lows.

LLAP
Revisado: 12-14-22
I listened to this and found myself laughing at times, and other times quiet sad. The book is enjoyable and having it read to me by William Shatner was a pleasure. I had the opportunity to meet both Shatner and Nimoy during my Star Trek convention runs beginning in the early 70’s and ending in 2015. I’ve got their autographs. Now I’ve got their stories. LLAP is all I can say.

Four decades after it first shook the nation, then the world, William Peter Blatty's thrilling masterwork of faith and demonic possession returns in an even more powerful form. Raw and profane, shocking and blood-chilling, it remains a modern parable of good and evil and perhaps the most terrifying novel ever written.

Don’t listen at night!!!
Revisado: 11-07-22
This was the last of my Halloween month scare fest on audible. I had read the book as a kid, then went another 40 years or so since. Now I had it read to me. I started it the week before Halloween, it was the last of my scary stories. Listened at night or during the day while I worked. Very enjoyable, a bit different from the movie at times. Highly recommended. The movie always tops my horror fest film list, and now so will this to listen to before, during and just after Halloween.

Historia
When Star Wars burst on to the big screen in 1977, an unfailingly polite golden droid called C-3PO captured imaginations around the globe. But C-3PO wasn’t an amazing display of animatronics with a unique and unforgettable voice-over. Inside the metal costume was an actor named Anthony Daniels. In this deeply personal memoir, Anthony Daniels recounts his experiences of the epic cinematic adventure that has influenced pop culture for more than 40 years. For the very first time, he candidly describes his most intimate memories as the only actor to appear in every Star Wars film.

Sad that it ended
Revisado: 10-18-22
As with most of my life since I was 13, Star Wars has been a big part of it. I’ve seen Star Wars at least 700 times (not kidding) since then. I’m now 58 and still captivated as I used to be by all things Star Wars. I’ve read most of what’s out there about the making, the actors, I was surprised to come across this audible book. I was looking for horror since it’s October and this came across. I must say I loved it. Anthony Daniels book, story telling is amazing and another missing piece to the saga. I now feel bad that I didn’t take the time to get his autograph so many years ago. I highly recommend this. I can’t say more.

In 1978, Laurie Strode survived an encounter with Michael Myers, a masked figure who killed her friends and terrorized the town of Haddonfield, Illinois, on Halloween night. Myers was later gunned down, apprehended, and committed to Smith's Grove State Hospital. For forty years, memories of that nightmarish ordeal have haunted Laurie and now Myers is back once again on Halloween, having escaped a routine transfer, leaving a trail of bodies in his wake.

Expected a bit more than the movie, as it went on and maybe he because of the voice of the reader it was at times boring. Made me sleepy as well. Listened to it while working and that was a no no.
