Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Fantastic reader
Revisado: 06-14-24
Do not be put off by the cussing. Everyone cusses. Get over it and listen to the great book. I’m tired. I was up until 3am finishing this book. It’s good. Not typical, it gave me a lot to think about. I put a lot of those clips in it. The person reading did a fantastic job even pretending to use different voices, that was funny. I do highly recommend this book to everyone.

Too soon

This would be better released in a few decades. It’s strange to read what we are going through. We already know. I don’t see the point of this book, other than an attempt to capitalize on history. It’s not history yet.

This is an awesome book with “how to apply”!
Revisado: 03-13-21
I like that this book is so specific to help me with my kids. My only regret is that I learn and remember best with audio books. This is a workbook, so audible learners have zero PDF accompanying the purchase. I would have to buy the book twice to get anything in writing. Maybe a future update will include a few sheets for us, especially since we pay more than the cost of the book.

Mostly appropriate for teens and adults
Revisado: 11-13-20
I really enjoyed reading this book. Except one romance novel style chapter, it’s well written. I highly recommended this book to my 16 year old. We started listening together, and THAT was the chapter I was in. She asked my why I want her to listen to a book about teens having sex! I didn’t know that chapter was going to be so graphic. The other two mentions of sex were very PC and well included. Now she has no interest in reading this book, and is questioning my choices in reading material. One chapter ruined it all. Other than that, it’s a great book. It bounces around a lot in the timeline, so make sure you know the names of characters well!

Historia
Hillbilly Elegy is a passionate and personal analysis of a culture in crisis - that of white working-class Americans. The decline of this group, a demographic of our country that has been slowly disintegrating over 40 years, has been reported on with growing frequency and alarm but has never before been written about as searingly from the inside. J. D. Vance tells the true story of what a social, regional, and class decline feels like when you were born with it hung around your neck.

This book was recommended to me by a friend who i had asked for advice in regards to dealing with my sister-in-law. I can relate to a lot of this book. I hope to be a better person after reading it. I don’t want to keep repeating the cycle of abuse.
