Grreat book, always brilliant when read by the author
Revisado: 12-14-17
I enjoyed this book immensely, I spend ridiculous amounts of time in my car, so I try to fill that time with all the books I want to read & don’t get the time to. Often my 10yr old son is in the car with me so that gives me a frame work for the books I can & cannot read.
I had to laugh as my son asked me ‘mum, why are you reading a book where a bossy lady is telling you what to do’, I informed Tom that Mel was advising not telling me & it was what was helping us get to schedule early every morning. Honestly, I am the bed sloth from hell, I am on strong painkillers after breaking my back & they make me very incredibly sleepy & by morning my pain levels have risen so combined, I’m a horrible person until coffee & meds do their thing. Mel’s words are slowly sinking in & not only do I slowly de out of bed like a boneless sloth (not up to jumping yet), I have started swimming again, my son is delighted as he is a water baby & in between laps, I muck are with him, it’s more fun than I would have expected.
If you are struggling or stuck, try this book, if it dragged me out of bed, it can only help you!

A great start to an enjoyable series
Revisado: 12-08-17
I read this series when I was younger & phones still needed to be dialled, now I’m listening to it again with my 10yr old, he is loving this series & is now on book 5, thank goodness for credits or I would be broke.
I am really enjoying listening along with him, there is just something nice about listening to a book you read as a child, with your own kid 😊
My son & I always listen to Audiobooks in the car, it is extremely beneficial for language development & the brain process’s it the same as reading, my son is not a fan of reading & Audiobooks are giving him an appreciation for books, that neither I or his teachers could provide.

Historia
This audiobook will guide you through seven habits which are consistent across all game players, manipulators, narcissists, sociopaths, and liars. Simply by becoming aware of these habits, you'll find yourself being overlooked rather than targeted as another mark by these pernicious, intra-species predators.

Enjoyable, helpful for clarifying my husband

I married & lived with a man (for 12yrs) who fulfils all these point, I am now studying the subject with the intention of not getting caught again, it is painful to here a lot of his “methods” outlined. I recommend anyone who has been or is living/friends/related to someone who fulfils these different criteria’s to study and read all you can, watch your finances & get the hell out of there...

De Waal reviews the rise and fall of the mechanistic view of animals and opens our minds to the idea that animal minds are far more intricate and complex than we have assumed. De Waal's landmark work will convince you to rethink everything you thought you knew about animal - and human - intelligence.

Fascinating insight to animals
Revisado: 09-15-17
I listened to this book with my ten year old son, we both throughly enjoyed the story & with the exception of a few scientific terms which he needed some assistance with, he had no problems understanding the story. It is wonderful that science is now proving what animal lovers have known all along in their hearts, animals are sentient creatures with the ability to understand, plan & love.
Recommended reading for animal lovers & sceptics alike. Big thumbs up to Frans de Wall

Many people have heard of trauma and PTSD. But when we think of PTSD, many of us think of nightmares and flashbacks that are related to one traumatic incident or event that has been experienced by the sufferer. There is another form of PTSD that's related to being exposed to repetitive trauma. It is called Complex PTSD, coined by a woman named Judith Herman.

Interesting & well written but not in depth enough for me.
Revisado: 08-19-17
I enjoyed this book, it certainly covered some questions I had & cleared up some minor points, however, I was looking for something more in depth & will check out the websites offered.
This book would be a good starting point to give to the partner of someone who suffers from PTSD or Alice in Wonderland Syndrome.
It's not overly long or full of difficult technical jargon & gives a brief insight into the conditions. A partner would find it quite easy reading without being completely overwhelmed by the insidious depths of despair that these conditions can induce.

The Covenant, Book 1
Revisado: 08-15-17
If you could sum up Death of a Darklord in three words, what would they be?
Strange, intriguing, different
What did you like best about this story?
The story line is interesting but like most first books of a series, it's all about padding out the characters and trying to establish a new world and the story line that it's going to follow, I enjoyed the book, I love this author and fiction. An easy read, however, I'm intrigued how the author is going to follow up.
Which character – as performed by Nick Sullivan – was your favorite?
I liked the twins the most
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I have been an audiobook fan for years and listen to them when I drive, I found myself listening to this one when I was walking the dogs as well.
Any additional comments?
I enjoyed the book, I don't want to give away anything but was a bit sad that so many main characters left the story, I'm hoping that they may come back in the future and I am intrigued to see how the magic progress.
