Historia
Over two grim nights in Los Angeles, the young followers of Charles Manson murdered seven people, including the actress Sharon Tate, then eight months pregnant. With no mercy and seemingly no motive, the Manson Family followed their leader's every order. Twenty years ago, when journalist Tom O'Neill was reporting a magazine piece about the murders, he worried there was nothing new to say. Then he unearthed shocking evidence of a cover-up behind the "official" story, including police carelessness, legal misconduct, and potential surveillance by intelligence agents.

It's ok...
Revisado: 03-06-24
There is a decent bit of useful information in this book and it's fairly well written, however, it does seem to have a strongly feminist approach to the subject. If that's your style, this book is for you. If however you happen to be a practicing male, this may not be the best read for you...

The performance is fine. The narrator does a great job.
Revisado: 02-09-24
The content however doesn't really fit with anything else I've ever read about this subject. The author makes several claims that, in my experience, aren't true.

The narrator is terrible...
Revisado: 01-12-21
The book itself is fine but the narrator is absolutely horrible. pausing for long periods of time every few seconds. The narration makes it extremely difficult and frustrating to listen to the book. I would not recommend this to anyone that is even slightly impatient.

Historia
Confucius knew all about life and told us how to behave, but we can't find out precisely what he was up to. His well-meaning platitudes, quaint maxims, and quasi-enigmatic anecdotes combined to produce an ideal philosophy for civil servants. It would appear that his aim was to turn his pupils into good government officials, but his teachings succeeded beyond his wildest expectations, providing rules of conduct and spiritual fodder for more than two thousand years.

Very misleading title...
Revisado: 10-15-20
This book had more to do with Chinese philosophy and other random figures in history that it did Confucius. Even the timeline of his life according to the author spans hundreds of years and has almost nothing to do with him. the author clearly didn't do any research and knew very little about Confucius. For anyone looking for accurate and detailed information, this is a waist of time.

Title is very misleading... Don't waist your time.
Revisado: 10-02-20
This book has absolutely nothing to do with presenting powerful presentations. The only subject the author talks about is how to give a TED talk. The steps involved, preparation, how to get asked to give one, and so on. There is nothing in this book that even closely resembles giving powerful presentations outside of a TED setting. For anyone interested in a book about giving presentations, this is not the book for you. The title is extremely misleading. There are much better books out there that actually cover this topic. To make matters worse, the audio is far from great. Sometimes it's not bad and sometimes it sounds like she is reading the book from the other side of the room. I am really glad I didn't have to pay for this book because I would have been very upset. Complete waist of time for anyone not planning on giving a TED talk and for those that would like to give a TED talk, there are much better books and articles about that as well.

Historia
The Science of Getting Rich is the classic guide to creating wealth through the Law of Attraction. First published in 1910, 100 years later it inspired Rhonda Byrne's best-selling book and movie, The Secret. According to Wallace D. Wattles, "There is a science of getting rich, and it is an exact science, like algebra or arithmetic. There are certain laws which govern the process of acquiring riches; once these laws are learned and obeyed by any man, he will get rich with mathematical certainty."

Fairly repetitive.
Revisado: 09-07-20
This book is pretty repetitive. It's not a bad book though it just didn't have to be 2 and a half hours long. I also didn't like that the author suggests that the reader do "very little reading outside this book" and that the reader "shouldn't read any other books on this subject" implying that he covers it so completely that no other research or learning is needed. I didn't like the idea of suggesting that the reader shouldn't read much at all and to focus all their attention and spare time on rereading this book. It wasn't a masterpiece and it certainly doesn't cover everything someone would need or even like to know on this subject. I also strongly encourage everyone to continue reading any and all things that interest them because to stop learning is to stop advancing. This is not a book I would care to read again.
