Historia
My final baseball season with the Easton U Pirates feels bittersweet. I'd like to go out on a high note, graduate, and focus on the family business. But a certain pitcher is making senior year a challenge. Not only because Maclain is stubborn as hell, but because he makes me feel things I never have about another guy. With each snarky comment and hard-won grin, he reveals a little more of himself, and before I know it, I'm in over my head.

My word This is the worst
Revisado: 12-16-24
There was zero chemistry between the characters which in turn resulted in no chemistry between the narrators. I adore Kale I’ve listened to almost every book he worked on he is a delight to listen to and as for the other guy well I’m sorry I don’t like how he narrated here ( I don’t want to generalise but I’m tempted to)
I blame the author for the lack of fire between the MCs, there’s just something off about them it’s hard to explain but they just didn’t seem better suited

Historia
NYPD Detective Alec MacAidan has always been good with weird. After all, his life has been a string of the unexplainable. But when an injured man gives him cryptic clues, then turns to dust in front of him, Alec's view on weird is changed forever. Cronin, a vampire Elder, has spent the last 1,000 years waiting for Alec. He'd been told his fated one would be a man wielding a shield, but he didn't expect him to be human, and he certainly didn't expect that shield to be a police badge.

I couldn’t finish this book because of the narrator I’ll just have to get it on kindle and read it myself because I’m quite interested in the storyline.

This was the worst story I’ve listened to in a while, the story was so poorly written I just couldn’t finish it. And as for Joel’s narration, I can’t stand him at all

It's DS Logan McRae's first day back on the job after a year off on the sick, and it couldn't get much worse. Three-year-old David Reid's body is discovered in a ditch: strangled, mutilated and a long time dead. And he's only the first. There's a serial killer stalking the Granite City, and the local media are baying for blood. Soon the dead are piling up in the morgue almost as fast as the snow on the streets, and Logan knows time is running out. More children are going missing. More are going to die.

Very disturbing
Revisado: 08-26-24
I actually liked the narrator he has a way of making the story come alive. I was however disturbed by the vivid descriptions of babies/kids being violated, I get that that’s what’s happening out there but when reading fiction a bit of censorship helps some of us who read fiction as a form of escapism.

Revisado: 08-26-24
I absolutely like Lucas, Snow, Ian and Andrè. I don’t like Rowe’s character at all I get the grief and all but he comes across as too selfish and brash, my dislike for him started in the hospital with Lucas.
Lucas and Andrè’s relationship is quite believable and so realistic one can’ help but wonder if it’s based on an actual relationship 😅🤭. Their chemistry is just perfect.
Jude and Snow are also a good match , at first I couldn’t see it but after what happened at Snow’s house their dynamics were clear and it warmed my heart to see them navigate through all the turmoil.
I can’t wait to see what’s next with these men, still not sure I’ll be able to listen to Rowe’s story objectively though 😅.
The narrator was all over the place with voices, Lucas’ voice was more constant, Snow sounded like Lucas, Jude sounded like Ian and that was the most annoying

I like Anthony but in this book he ruined it. As for Matt he is not a likeable character, I loathe cheaters and he did it so boldly I had to skip those parts . It doesn’t matter that it worked out in the end, Liz was just as bad as Matt. This book was the worst

The story would have been perfect if it were 6 to 7 hours instead of adding unnecessary parts. Everything was all over the place, repetition and just plain boring and long winded plot. I’ve enjoyed all the other books the is by far the worst

Awesome rollercoaster ride
Revisado: 08-06-24
I came across the author after searching for hours for a book that would stimulate my brain and this was a perfect find. I’ll acknowledge the narrator because he is that good and I stayed with the audio because of him.
The author has a unique way of writing, I really was so captivated I didn’t even finish my house chores I just sat and listened till the end. This was beautifully written, this is the first time I’ve read a book and not like the MC, he redeemed himself somehow but I’m still conflicted about liking him 😂😅.
On to the next one , I’ve already bought it
