Historia
A larval Great Old One is growing day by day in power and just about ready to pop. If Chad Gadenier can't convince "the powers that be" to get involved, not only New Orleans, but the entire world, is going to fall under the power of the nastiest of nasties. Now on the outs with the US government and in exile from his usual job of saving the world, Chad must rally the forces of light against the coming darkness. The problem is one guy with a sword and a sub-gun isn't going to solve this one.

great story about Chad Gadenier. He was the marine sent back from heaven.
i hope they continue doing in depth back stories for more characters.

Historia
When marine private Oliver Chadwick Gardenier is killed in the marine barrack bombing in Beirut, somebody who might be Saint Peter gives him a choice: Go to heaven, which, while nice, might be a little boring, or return to earth. The Boss has a mission for him, and he's to look for a sign. He's a marine: He'll choose the mission. Unfortunately, the sign he's to look for is "57". Which, given the food services contract in Bethesda Hospital, creates some difficulty. Eventually it appears that God's will is for Chad to join a group called Monster Hunters International.

Any additional comments?
i really enjoyed this story, but..
i totally get what the negative reviews are saying. i can see how the main character becomes obnoxious. he is not directly bad or annoying but is too good to be real. he is like superman and even i was waiting for him to be knocked down a peg. he is virtually perfect, mentally and physically and women cant say no.
even with this i enjoy the story and all the background on the monsters and MHI.
so if you have no problem ignoring certain things about the story, then you can enjoy this one. if you cant and get really wrapped in a story and have to like a character, then you'll probably not like this one.

Historia
East Antarctica: the coldest, most desolate location on earth. Two-and-a-half miles below the ice cap is Vostok, a 6,000 square mile liquid lake, over 1,000 feet deep, left untouched for more than 15 million years. Now, marine biologist Zachary Wallace and two other scientists aboard a submersible tethered to a laser will journey 13,000 feet beneath the ice into this unexplored realm to discover Mesozoic life-forms long believed extinct - and an object of immense power responsible for the evolution of modern man.

good but more sci-fi

this book starts off like meg or the loch, feels very familiar. about half way thru it becomes a sci-fi story, and not monsters but space. i think this is the root of the negative reviews. it is out of character but it doesn't make the book bad. just go into this book knowing there is a turn.

give it a chance

Any additional comments?
i must have passed this book 5 times while searching for other monster books, and eventually i had to give it a change.
its pretty good for a light read. i do wish it was slightly longer, not Stephen King longer but slightly, just to get to know the characters a bit more. i didn't feel much when they died, lived or succeeded.
the title pretty much explains the story line, so dont get it expecting something informative or science based. it is a simple fun light read about an old legend.
i cant wait for book 2. if anyone hears anything about a second book, please post it here
thanks
and thank you mr sullivan, i thoroughly enjoyed it

Historia
The world's oldest celebration comes to life in The End of Summer: Thirteen Tales of Halloween, an anthology that honors the darkest and strangest night of the year. Each story is designed to be intrinsically and intimately about Halloween - its traditions, its myths, and its effects - and they run the gamut from horrifying to heartbreaking. Demons are faced, death is defied, and love is tested. And not everyone makes it out alive. The End of Summer has arrived.

good not great
Revisado: 10-17-16

ok the main thing id like to say is that the reader sounded like he'd been reading out loud all day, and this was his last book before he got to go home. he sounded careful, as to not mess up but not enthusiastic. you'll understand once you hear him. so I cant fairly rate the stories, I feel the reading takes away from them and they might be better than I think.
with that being said, his voice isn't annoying, just blah, and the stories do make you feel very Halloweenie.
so don't expect a great work of literature, but it is a fun read, like a young adults quality book.

The bestselling fitness book for men who want to gain 25-35 pounds of lean muscle and lose as much fat or more in just 3-5 hours per week—and without giving up delicious foods or doing grueling workouts. Is Bigger Leaner Stronger a body building book that can help you pack on brain-shrinking amounts of muscle in 30 days flat? No. Is it a fitness nutrition book full of dubious diet and exercise “hacks” and “shortcuts” for melting belly fat faster than a roided hornet? Absolutely not.

NEW IRON CHAPEL BIBLE
Revisado: 03-05-16
Any additional comments?
this is a great book. i have kept Arnold's book in my Iron Chapel (home gym and Army gym) since i started lifting in 97, and now i have to retire it for this book. calm down! i mean no offense to Arnold, The New Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding is still there and Ive actually bought multiple copies to give out and leave for soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. but i consider it the old testament now and this is the new testament.
back to this book. its great, a lot of science i know, but read through it and it will review and simplify everything and the end of each subject, don't worry. if you are unsure about some of the material then look it up and be sure. don't just jump on board. but I'm sure you will find mike has done his research and his information is solid.
now read it and go lift!

i really enjoyed this read and the information makes sense and can be looked up for verification. i follow another fitness personality and their information if on the same page. its a great read and reminds you of a lot of things, you may have forgotten from bigger leaner stronger or thinner leaner stronger. if your new to Mike Matthews and not sure if you should invest, this book may be a good choice before bigger leaner stronger. i thought so. im a long time lifter and it helped me simplify and correct some of the mistakes i was making in the gym and in my diet while i read bigger leaner stronger.

Loved listening to the bunnicula series. My only complaint was the change of narrators for the 7th book. I did not care for the voices on the 7th book.

But when the legions of hell invade the small seaside town his boys call home, Dave has to make a call. Save the world? Or save his family? Not as easy a choice as you'd think, since Dave's ex-wife expects to be saved, too.

the story is good and goes along with the other two. i like the series but find myself not liking dave as much. i know there are tons of guys out there that are very Dave, but how is this guy the hero and doing the right thing.
i can see his personality allowing him to continue being a good guy while having unlimited power. so it becomes unbelievable.
BUT THE STORY IS GOOD and the other characters make up for him.

He knew it was a dumb stunt from the start. A midnight run through a cemetery to impress a couple of girls isn't the stuff of legend, but Alex Carlisle longs to escape the crushing mediocrity of life after high school. Then, he stumbles upon the ritual, the cultists, and two bound and bloodied women. Alex intervenes, and the ritual blows up in his face, leaving him bound to them both: Rachel and Lorelei, an angel and a succubus.

this is actually a cool story and scenario. if you read 50 shades then you can hear all the sex stuff and still understand the story line. there's a lot of sex. besides that tho, the reader is pleasant and the story is interesting. its literally a guys fantasy, but im sure more women enjoy this book.
