Historia
What Jack needs is an excuse to leave town. Ever since rescuing four teenagers from a car wreck, he's been hailed as a hero and the attention is making him itchy, especially since his too-pretty ex-wife is back, angling for a reunion. He's always liked Emmaline. She needs a weekend date? No problem. So when they wind up in bed together, Em chalks it up to red wine and chocolate cake, just one impulsive night not to be repeated. But Jack's pushing for more.

Kristan Higgins has done much better than this story
Revisado: 02-21-25
After enjoying many of Kristin Higgins’s book, was disappointed in this one and would have skipped it. The pace of the story seemed off and stilted. I liked some of the elements of Emeline’s (the protagonist’s) character, but the story and overall the character set somehow did not feel very compelling.

Historia
It's been over a decade since Nora left her hometown of Scupper Island, Maine, and very seldom looked back. She's carved out a successful life in Boston, where no one knows her as the awkward girl with the delinquent sister and the dad who left, but a not-as-dramatic-as-it-sounds brush with death has her taking stock of her life. Inspired to reconnect with her prickly mother and snarky teenage niece, Nora returns home for the summer, where she's forced to face the people she's spent the last ten years trying to avoid.

Beautiful story about a woman’s bravery and learning
Revisado: 08-30-24
This story had so many layers. I loved the way it explores the different versions of ourselves at different stages of life, and the beautiful of growing up, learning, surviving and thriving

Great songs, stories and story telling. I might listen again. Wanting to check out more from Ali Stroker now too. It was a light and heartening show.
