I kept skipping over this title even though it was recommended to me. It is a great story! It reminds me of the early Dungeon Born series books with its mechanics. Great story!

Mostly Filler

As other reviewers have said, this title is shorter than the others of this series. Unfortunately most of this book is also filler and fluff. Parts of it felt stretched and not as solid as I'm used to from this series. I'd recommend waiting until the next title comes out and listening to both together. I would recommend Path of Ascension and the Mark of the Fool series to hold you over.

Great start to the series! The system, characters, and story is interesting. I would compare the story to Primal Hunter with a Greek god twist. Definitely worth the credit!

Nothing spectacular. The narrator has a limited range of different voices. The story is predictable and contains very little loot.

Extremely Slow Start

The first two thirds of the book is extremely slow. As others have stated it suffers from Way to much internal dialog. I personally don't want to hear the MC figure out the four best ways to open a door and the consequence of each choice (this is not an exaggeration). The story does pick up and finally start moving forward later in the book. I will say the didialog is very well written and performed.
If you are looking forward to other rebirth stories I would check out Master Hunter K or maybe The Land: Chaos Seeds.

Nothing. Happened.

I was hoping the story would pick up and expand to the gods and worlds they've mentioned before. No luck. The story and MC in the previous books had an edge and some darkness about it. In this book, the MC is an unbeatable, corny, love struck, goodie two shoes. This is definitely my stopping point for this series.

Hard To Follow At Times

TLDR: Too many character's to follow and remember where their story left off. Not enough skill and power progression.

I stopped listening to this story 2/3 of the way through it. My breaking point was when one of the THREE to FIVE main character's; the warrior, who has been fighting and training his whole life, was utterly defeated by a big drunk miner in a fight
It was hard for me to follow because the story would switch between its 3 - 5 main and sub-characters' perspectives randomly. With no chapter title or announcing whose perspective the chapter would follow was confusing.

Book 13 is another smash hit! I started listening to this book at 3am (when it launched) and didn't put it down all day! The story is going in an interesting direction and I'm excited for the next book. Until then check out Path of Ascension

I had an extra credit to burn so I picked this up. It is very well written, has a MC who isn’t dumb or makes clearly bad choices, and is a great length. I feel as though this author respects their readers intellect and doesn’t pull things out of the air to make the story work. It starts off a bit slow but picks up. If you are a fan of LitRPGs check this series out!
