The hosts have great chemistry and bounce off one another in humor and in general conversation.
I will say this is everything I expect from someone who doesn't like anime but is friends with people who do. It brings me personal joy, but if you're kinda protective over a particular show, maybe skip that episode. But if you're here for the fun, go for it.

This is a humerous, well told story, about home and acceptance with well written children and adult characters.

I want to tell you how much I love how the children are written, because so often I read kids written by adults who have forgotten what being a kid is like, or never spent any time with them, and doesnt know how kids tend to operate. I half expected them to be mostly lumped together after a brief introduction, with more on Lucy. But we get to know the kids so well, and they are all wonderful and adorable.

The struggle of finding home and acceptance and needing to fight for a better tomorrow are all wonderful themes, condensed into something that anyone can do. It starts small.

An excellent entry in her Elemental Masters Series, Home from the Sea touched on Selkies--a much beloved set of mythical creatures I used to read about as a child. Moreover, this book gives us a look into how the various magical creatures in the world of Lackey's fantastical imagination interact with humans, magicians, and Elemental Masters, while giving us a fantastic story that feels both modern, and classic fairytale. Mari is likable character who has flaws, growth, and personality. Her stakes are extremely personal, easy to empathize, or relate to in some moments, and I truly hope to see her and her family in future books.
