Historia
Third generation Texas Ranger Tyler Steele is the last of a dying breed - a modern-day cowboy hero living in a world that doesn't quite understand his powerful sense of right and wrong and instinct to defend those who can't defend themselves. Samantha and her daughter, Hope, are on the run from a seemingly inescapable situation. They are in danger, desperate, and alone. Though they are strangers, Ty knows he can help - protecting the innocent is what he does best.

A Great Surprise
Revisado: 10-17-24
This book was a great surprise, and an enjoyable read. Narration was good too. I would have made the main character about a decade older. I'm not sure why modern authors keep making their protagonists younger and younger. The book does get a bit too preachy at times.

Historia
It turns out giving up your "right" to be offended can be one of the most freeing, healthy, simplifying, relaxing, refreshing, stress-relieving, encouraging things you can do. It's a radical, provocative idea: We're not entitled to get offended or stay angry. The idea of our own "righteous anger" is a myth. It is the number one problem in our societies today and, as Dallas Willard says, Christians have not been taught out of it. But what if Christians were the most unoffendable people on the planet?

Brilliant Storytelling
Revisado: 08-10-24
This is the second Taylor Caldwell novel I've read or listened to. I can't wait to start the next book in this series. Taylor Caldwell is one of the very best American writers of the 20th century. I also enjoyed the narration of this book.

Historia
Joseph Armagh was 13 when he first saw America through a dirty porthole on the steerage deck of The Irish Queen. It was the early 1850s, and he was a penniless orphan cast on a hostile shore to make a home for himself and his younger brother and infant sister. Some 70 years later, from his deathbed, Joseph Armagh last glimpsed his adopted land from the gleaming windows of a palatial estate. A multimillionaire, one of the most powerful and feared men, Joseph Armagh had indeed found a home.

Historia
Winston Churchill called it Britain’s finest hour. The Royal Navy evacuated 330,000 soldiers from Dunkirk. But more than 200,000 were left behind. On the beaches, Jeremy Littlefield hides for his life. His path home will draw him through the iron will and the unbreakable heart of the French Resistance. Only a few miles away, his brother, Lance, rallies fellow soldiers to start a trek that will take them across Europe, sabotaging the Germans in a mission tantamount to suicide.

So-so Story and. Painfully Bad Narration
Revisado: 08-18-23
I really wanted to like this series, but I cannot listen to another minute of this book. Some people are born to be narrators; Steve Rausch is clearly not one of them. The dialogue is melodramatic, while the cartoonish voices would seem to be a better fit for very young children. Is there a terrible shortage of narrators? I don't understand why this audio-disaster was ever produced. The author took a great topic and produced from it a story that is mediocre at best. The criminally-bad narration turned the book into a travesty.

OK, But Not Great
Revisado: 08-11-23
There's not a lot of meat to this story, but it has a few entertaining moments. The author uses MUCHO Espanñol, especially in the dialogue.

I Hung In There
Revisado: 06-07-23
I hung in there and finished the book, but I wasn't sad when it finally ended. The male narrator sounded robotic at times, while the female narrator was overly dramatic. The story became more and more unbelievable as it went on.

Good story, lousy narration
Revisado: 07-11-21
Dick Hill is one of my least favorite narrators. He always manages to make the protagonist sound like a middle-aged guy who’s had a bit too much to drink. His narration of female characters is laughably bad. The story itself is pretty good.

Historia
The British win the American Revolutionary War, and a desperate Washington and the American founders must make a last stand in an enclave called Liberty. In 1781, George Washington's attempt to trap the British under Cornwallis at Yorktown ends catastrophically when the French fleet is destroyed in the Battle of the Capes. The revolution collapses, and the British begin a bloody reign of terror. A group of rebels flees westward and sets up a colony near what is now Chicago. They call it Liberty.

Great Storytelling
Revisado: 05-21-21
Robert Conroy is an excellent storyteller and Bronson Pinchot, though still a “perfect stranger” to me, is one of the best narrators to which I’ve had the pleasure of listening. If you like historical fiction or alternative history, you will likely enjoy this book as much as I did.

Historia
The voice that spoke the cosmos into existence is the same voice that parted the Red Sea and made the sun stand still in the midday sky. One day, this voice will make all things new, but it’s also speaking to you now! That voice is God’s, and what we’ve learned from Scripture is that He often speaks in a whisper. Not to make it difficult to hear Him, but to draw us close. Sure, in ancient times and in mysterious ways, God spoke to His people, but is He still speaking now? Mark Batterson certainly believes so. And he wants to introduce you to the seven love languages of God.

Disappointing
Revisado: 08-15-19
I listen to a lot of audiobooks, including many Christian books. I listened to the first three chapters of this book before finally calling it quits. The author should have had someone else narrate the book. The constant barrage of scientific facts quickly became tiresome.
