I think I have made it abundantly clear how much I love this series but in case I haven’t I LOVE THIS SERIES!

This book directly follows the events of War Games. Nephilim and Metatron grow even closer after all she has been through and he makes sure to avenge her suffering.

I think my favorite thing about this series is the blurred lines between good and evil. When I started Behind Blue Eyes, I hated Metatron, and now I am rooting for him and Nephilim, but also for Nephilim and Jake at the same time. Mocikat is so talented to dance between the lines of traditional protagonist vs. antagonists.

This book has me ready to dive in to the next one. Kudos Mocikat for your continued success with this series.

Although The Wheel of Time is one of my favorite series ever, The Great Hunt is probably my least favorite of the bunch.

My main problem with this story is the pacing. After all the exciting events of book one, not much happened here until the ending and even then it felt anticlimactic after the long build up.

But probably my least favorite thing was how Mat and (sort of) Perrin react to Rand being the Dragon. Rand was always ready to say by their side, especially when he thought Mat was going mad because of the dagger but the second he reveals what he is they don’t want anything to do with him. Rude.

And still Rand goes with them on the hunt for the horn because he’s worried about Mat and wants to help him get the dagger back! Come on guys be nice to your friend.

It was interesting to compare the book to the tv series now that the new season is out. I was surprised with how much they kept true to Jordan’s story although they did change a lot and I mostly liked what they decided to tweak.

My favorite change was Selene’s character. I remember when I first read the book being so confused by her and the mystery of who she was and what she wanted with Rand and his friends kept me reading more than anything else although her odd little reveal to Min at the end felt awkward to me like “oh yeah hi I’m one of the forsaken okay bye now.”

I liked her character shift in the show. It made more sense to me even though COME ON RAND YOU HAD TO KNOW SOME HOT CHICK ISN’T JUST GOING TO LET YOU STAY WITH HER FOR FREE! THE D ISN’T THAT GOOD!

Okay I am going to stop rambling now because I could go on for hours but as harsh as I am being I do like this book. It’s a good continuation of the series even though I really do think it could have been chopped down significantly and the important parts put into book three.

The audiobook was a great listen though. I love Rosamund Pike’s voice and she does an amazing job bringing the characters to life.

I am really enjoying these audiobooks narrated by Rosamund Pike. She does a great job bringing all the characters to life and she has a very enjoyable speaking voice.

This is one of my favorite books in The Wheel of Time series. I love how everyone starts out separated and of course the wheel weaves them all together again by the end. The drama and urgency in the Stone of Tear is palpable and it’s one of the best moments in the series in my opinion.

I love everything Mocikat writes and this is just another amazing book to add to that list!

Detailing the detective Siro’s backstory, we find out why he came to Olympias 1 and we get to see the first case he ever worked with Kate.

This was one of those plot lines that I didn’t realize I needed until just now. Siro and Kate were fun to read about in Behind Blue Eyes but now I love them even more than I already did.

Fast paced and exciting, Neon Nights lives up to its name. It is electrifying and horrifying all at the same time and I enjoyed every minute of it.

This entire Nephilim prequel series was amazing but this book was the perfect finale to her younger adventures.

I couldn’t stop listening to this book. The audio is so well done and the story was paced in such a way that you kept wanting to know what happened next.

And Raphael…oh sweet boy. I won’t say anymore to avoid major spoilers but his story arc really got me in the feels.

If you are a fan of Behind Blue Eyes I highly recommend you read this series too and it would also be a great starting series to dive into Mocikat’s books if you have never read any of them.

Behind Blue Eyes is one of my favorite series and these origin stories add another layer to the character we thought we knew making the story even more amazing!

I love seeing how Nephilim became the guardian angel she is today. Seeing her as a teenager filled in holes in her story I didn’t even realize were there.

I couldn’t stop listening to this audiobook and I can’t wait to start the next origin story!

Dark City returns us to the world that Shadow City introduced us to. We are reunited with Colton, Eric, Bombshell, Vincent and more.

This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites, just like all of Mocikat’s others works have been. Our heros (and villains) are met with even more challenges and dangers as they try and bypass the dangerous world that has been left behind after the glitch.

The standouts in this book for me were actually Vincent and Eurydice. Their story was so twisted but also so special and filled with devotion.

I can’t wait to read more in this series! Kudos to Mocikat for creating another amazing world.

The Wheel of Time was one of my favorite series as a young adult and after watching the new tv show I was inspired to listen to the book again to refresh my memory.

I love the fact that Rosamund Pike read this audiobook. She brought life to not only Moiraine but all the characters in this book. I can’t wait to listen to the rest of the series.

Shadow City is one of the few books that I haven’t read by Mocikat so I had to remedy that fact and I’m glad I did!

This book has so many elements that I loved. Set in an apocalyptic world filled with vampires, evil dark ones, and humans doing their best to survive, I was instantly drawn into this story.

I loved the multiple dimensions to this book. There was layer after layer of plot and intrigue, and even after finishing the book I know there is still more to find out.

I do have to say I can definitely see how Mocikat has improved over time. Although this book is incredible and gripping, there was a lot of head hopping and unclear point of view changes that left me a bit thrown off at times.

But that being said, this was an exciting read and I can’t wait to dive into book two!

Mocikat has done it again with another amazing sequel in the Behind Blue Eyes series!

War Games up the stakes once again. Nephilim is starting to remember her past, and it seems many of the people in it are coming back to haunt her.

With a skill that is hard to emulate, Mocikat makes you question everything you thought you knew about the previous books.

I couldn’t stop listening to this story. The narrators did a wonderful job giving everyone a voice and now I’m already eagerly awaiting the next installment!
