Jamie has written a wonderful, gripping, faith-based TEOTWAWKI series. I just finished this book, and am going to download the next book as soon as I'm done with the review.
Thank you for using your gift to bring stories that bring faith into this genre, and showing that He is there for anyone who wants, and needs, peace in their life.
Stacy is by-far my favorite female narrator. Her ability to differentiate between characters, male and female, American and foreign accents, is impressive. She brings life to not only the characters, but the story as a whole.
Excellent teamwork between the author and narrator! On to the next book!!

Historia
The sleepy, eastern Washington wheat town of Antioch has become a gateway for the supernatural - from sightings of angels and a weeping crucifix to a self-proclaimed prophet with an astounding message. The national media and the curious all flock to the little town - a great boon for local business but not for Travis Jordan.

Good story, needs a new narrator
Revisado: 11-20-22
I'd love to hear the next book, but please get a new narrator for the future. It was pretty hard to get going because the narrator sounded like a kid trying to read a serious book... this series deserves someone who can bring the listener into the gravity of the situation, and the characters to life.

After saving the world many times, the Merry Band of Pirates have accepted the inevitable: Earth is doomed. All they can do is try to bring a few thousand people to safety, before vicious aliens arrive to destroy humanity's home world. No. There is one other thing they can do: hit the enemy so hard that the aliens will regret they ever heard of humans.

WTF just happened!?!?!
Revisado: 02-14-20
I have listened to all previous 8 books, plus the Mavericks series. Valkyrie was phenomenal.
The previous books were great, but the shenanigans started becoming predictable and sometimes hard to follow d/t the involvement of so many species/clans/groups. But something about Valkyrie was different. It definitely pulled me in and kept me hooked from start to finish.
THEN...the end!!!!! W T F ??!!??!! Please...crank out the next book before I have an aneurism. I cannot stand cliffhangers, but this one was...absolutely unexpected. It just stopped...ended...but in a way that sets up for the next book. I won't spoil it, but anyone who likes this series, NEEDS TO LISTEN TO THIS BOOK.
-R.C...you ARE the sound of the Ex. Force., fantastic listening as always.
-Craig, wow!!! My only suggestion, PLEASE provide a visual aid for all of the species and relationships of the aliens in the books. I have listened to all of the books and still get a headache when everyone is fighting and inter-species battles are raging. Thank you!!!

Historia
Life at the fortified town of Sanctuary is calm. The people, with their fearless leader at the helm, have created a haven where they can live out their lives in peace and safety. But it hasn’t always been this way. There were battles and losses along the way, and victory usually came at a price. With the younger generation coming into their own, it’s time for Leah to pass on all she has learned over the years. Time to tell the stories of how the world became the way it is...starting with the highwaymen of Andorra.

GIVE KATE A CHANCE!
Revisado: 04-23-19
I have listened to the first six books, MANY times. RC Bray IS the story...from Dan's POV. I actually listened to the preview of book 7, several times, and just couldn't get over how "wrong" Leah sounded. But, being a die-hard fan of the series, I gave it a chance. After all, I could just return the book if I did not like it. Well...I'm glad I got over my preconceptions and listened to it. WOW! This really is HER story. The writing is the same, but different somehow. Kate took Leah's character and made it her own. Yes, everyone sounds different (when compared to Bray), but that also adds to the fact that book 7 is from Leah's perspective. I'm NOT a book reviewer in any sense, but I'm telling you, if you love this series, LISTEN TO IT. It is worth it!!!!

Historia
In a rich and riveting narrative, Jane Dunn reveals the extraordinary rivalry between the regal cousins. It is the story of two queens ruling on one island, each with a claim to the throne of England, each embodying dramatically opposing qualities of character, ideals of womanliness (and views of sexuality), and divinely ordained kingship.

It should be titled "Elizabeth the Great, Mary the Malicious"
Revisado: 06-03-17
The book itself was very well written. It is, however, indescribably biased. The book goes on and on about how thoughtful and magnanimous Queen Elizabeth was and how terrible and scheming Queen Mary was. How Mary's only concern was herself and Elizabeth's was poor stupid Mary and her beloved country. I've read several books on both and this one seems to praise Elizabeth and condemn Mary in a terribly off-sided way. Again, quite well written, but unjustly so.

Phenomenally written book and narration!
Revisado: 07-08-16
What made the experience of listening to Mary Queen of Scotland and the Isles the most enjoyable?
The narrator "acted" out the whole novel. I could not believe how talented she was to have given each character a different voice, and personality. The accents were delightful to listen to, without being too thick to understand. The book itself was very well written and I was shocked to learn so much about history just in one book about a single woman. This is, by far the BEST audible book I have had the pleasure of listening to. Definitely, a must buy!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Mary, she was a strong, sweet and caring woman. Piously Catholic, even to her end.
