Very broad, very basic, and not many specific details on actual training. A lot of information that is both unnecessary and not useful. Some of the ideas presented are also somewhat outdated based on current research about dog training. I didn't find it very useful. There is much better material out there.

Wow, the narrator will put you to sleep. Not entirely sure what the first chapter has to do with the title and supposed subject matter, and its over an hour long. Its not an easy listen. Im far from done and not sure I will finish this one. My opinion, waaaay to much extraneous information without getting to the point. I didn't get this book for an anthropological history of music and singing; I just wanted some help improving my singing voice. So far I have not found much of that help here.

I found this book to be insightful and interesting in an engaging way, and the reader does a great job. If you are looking for a thorough understanding of how and why some learn to excel and "have talent" while others struggle, this is a great look into the mechanics of building exceptional skill. Great information for those looking to master a craft or skill, be it carpentry, the piano, or a golf swing.

Very interesting and comprehensive, but gets pretty technical. In depth descriptions of the various vagus nerve functions and the body functions and systems it controls and impacts, not just stimulation techniques. If you are a tech geek you will probably love it. Just be ready to wade thru a lot of technical information. The first few chapters read a lot like a medical textbook.
