Historia
On July 4, 1961, the rising middle-class families of a Chicago neighborhood gathered before their flag-bedecked houses, a confident vision of the American Dream. That vision was shattered over the following decade, its inequities at home and arrogance abroad challenged by powerful civil rights and antiwar movements. Assassinations, social violence, and the blowback of a "silent majority" shredded the American fabric.

Historia
In Team of Teams, retired four-star General Stanley McChrystal and former Navy SEAL Chris Fussell made the case for a new organizational model combining the agility, adaptability, and cohesion of a small team with the power and resources of a giant organization. Now, in One Mission, Fussell channels all his experiences, both military and corporate, into powerful strategies for unifying isolated and distrustful teams.

Actionable insights for a VUCA world.
Revisado: 01-21-23
Liked this book a lot because it offers pragmatic answers to universal issues. I’d like to see a similar book from the overarching perspective of the technology sector, and not military operations, as I believe the concepts will get deeper acceptance that way.

Historia
From legendary historian Adam Hochschild, a groundbreaking reassessment of the overlooked but startlingly resonant period between World War I and the Roaring Twenties, when the foundations of American democracy were threated by war, pandemic, and violence fueled by battles over race, immigration, and the rights of labor

A good review of the times, but somewhat biased
Revisado: 01-08-23
This is a good look at an important period in US history. It’s a quick and easy read, but still filled with important information. It’s weakness is it’s heavy left-wing bias. It’s a small flaw, but a flaw none the less. He glosses over some excesses of the time to focus on the repression heaped on the far left of the era - which leaves other in justices muted. The facts of the period are indisputable though and any good biography of Wilson last term as President will prove that out and give you the satisfaction that his bias didn’t distort the truth.

In a world that thrives on competition and individual achievement, we’re measuring and pursuing potential incorrectly. Pursuing success in isolation—pushing others away as we push ourselves too hard—not only limits our potential but makes us more stressed and disconnected than ever.

More pop psychology for business
Revisado: 12-19-22
Pop psychology dressed as deep research. Some of his key points are undeniably true, but it’s more of an advertisement for him than an revelation.
