Firstly, I love Scott Brick.....have listened to his narration of many books and he was the perfect choice for this book. Secondly, I listen to hundred of books in this genre and this is one of my favorites! I understand the end of the world is a messy business but this book is full of hope and I like to think that I would behave like many of the characters in this book! I really hope there is a continuation to this story!!!

This story was so well written. I've read many books by William Kent Krueger...namely the Cork O' Connor series. Took a chance on this as I also love this narrator (Scott Brick). I felt like I was right their with them the entire time.

So happy that I waited until all the books were written to finally listen to the entire series! it's captivating! I can't imagine having to wait years for the next installment! I binge-listened to ...I have no idea actually..... how many hours...during the day...into the night! in the car and while walking! Not sure now what to listen to from here! Am in serious withdrawal!!

Not really a Commune book!

So let me start by saying that I loved the Commune series. I was very excited when I saw there was a 5th book. I decided to refresh my memory and listened to the first four again...binged them in a couple days! I couldn't wait to hear what had happened to our heroes in the next sequel!! I had already purchased the 5th before revisiting our friends in previous 4 books and hadn't read any reviews on 5. However, as I was downloading it I decided to read a few reviews and was surprised to learn that we wouldn't be visiting with Jake or Amanda or anyone from Wyoming really!! Having read a bunch of reviews I went ahead and listened. I kind of treated it as a stand alone book. There is a big appearance of Warren "Otter" but zero mention of our original friends. I didn't find any of the characters likeable and found so many plot holes or unfinished storylines that it was hard to even give it 3 stars. The only saving grace is R. C. Bray who does an outstanding job as usual.

Started this book on a vacation road trip from Ohio to Jonesport, Maine (I'm an avid SK listener/reader) and thought it would be a topical story..SK and Maine and all that!!!I was enthralled from the first chapter...even my partner ....who prefers non spooky non fiction!!! It had us listening...driving slowly sometimes just because we couldn't wait to find out what happened next!!! When we drove passed Bowditch Cemetery I almost went off the road!!! Goosebumps...literally!! Anyways, again, an amazing read from SK and narrator Seth Numrich, who makes the story really come alive!! Thank you for making a great road trip even more amazing!🙏🤩

I've listened to the 9 book box set and then excitedly found one more book! Over 60 hours of hanging with Null Spot and the Mighty Murphy and could spend another 60 hours easily! The author and narrator equally make you laugh, cry and want more. Hopefully the saga will continue 🙏
