Excellent Zombie action, not too much drama.
Revisado: 05-29-21
The author did an outstanding job of building up a very scary zombie uprising scenario, with plenty o' uber-tense moments where the reader is never sure if one of the main characters is going to survive or not (and a lot of them do go down only to get back up again ... you know what I mean.)
I have read, or listened to, literally every ZomPoc novel that I could lay my eyes and/or ears on, and most of them start off pretty good, but then they kind of diverge away from the fear factor that the undead and their all-you-can-eat attitude creates, and always ... every single time ... drag the reader on these too long, too boring drama-centered narratives that make the reader quit reading and/or listening, because the rest of the story is so predictable, and the zombies become some kind of backdrop. Lame.
Sorry, but I am rambling. I will get to the point. The Zombie Uprising books are not like that; it's one terrifying zombie fest after another, starting in a tiny town way up in Alaska and snowballing it's way south until the tsunami of the undead reaches the good ol' U.S. of A.
It's even got an almost believable backstory - the onset is caused by global warning that melts the ever-present permafrost where, wouldn't you know, a couple of dozen of infected sailors (leave it to the US Navy) were buried around a hundred and fifty years ago or so.
I really enjoyed this series of books, plus the narrator did an excellent job too. I have to scoot now - I just finished my list for CostCo and the Wally Mart - stocking up my bunker this afternoon. Stay safe.

Rose Winter has enough problems. With a marriage going down the tubes and a dreaded anniversary party on the horizon, the last thing she needs is the zombie apocalypse. She wanted to get drunk and sing karaoke, not murder her undead neighbors. It’s clear the party’s over, however, now Rose has more problems - a missing husband, an overbearing houseguest, and keeping her family alive.

What a crappy soap opera!
Revisado: 04-09-21
This was 99% female drama and 1% zombie. I want my credit back! Seriously.

Well done zombie story
Revisado: 01-31-21
Good "YOW! ZOMBIES! TIME TO GET THE HECK OUT OF HERE" story from the perspective of a 15 year old. Narrator was believable. Could of used a few more hordes of the undead, but there was still a lot of creepy suspense.

Plenty o' Zombies
Revisado: 10-27-20
Mr. Campbell keeps the Zombies as a main thread to this story, not like other Zombie stories where the antagonists are always other groups of evil humans. The suspense keeps coming and coming. His character development is top notch with lots of good guys and bad guys. And the narrator does an outstanding job too. Thank you John! Keep these coming!

Time travel piece, but not enough action
Revisado: 10-16-20
Interesting time travel piece, but not enough action. The different human cultures were cool, but I kept waiting around for something to happen.
