very engaging space opera

Excelent story and a very good narator. Of course this is an easy read. Soap opera in space opera :)

The book introduces some interesting scifi concepts. However, the overall story is not engaging. The narator has a childish voice; it is like all characters are small children or Japanese cartoons.

very odd book

This is the first book tried by me from the series "The long....". This is also the first time when I awarded a book with only 1 star (I never scored less than 4 stars until now, after 2 years of Audible and 40 SF books). The book seemed very strange. I stopped after 2-3 hours of listening because I did not understand too much of it - "steping in chaos". Maybe I should have read another book în the series before în order to understand the strânge "steping".

interesting collection of short stories

excelent story and performance

It was always a pleasure to listen to or read Orson Scott Cards stories. However, now, with the contribuțion of Aaron Jonston the story îs even better, sharper, with more acțion, more thrill.... Excelent job done by the two of them.

captivating murder mystery spiced with SF

The book îs a casual read, simpler than other writings of Peter F Hamilton (especialy those written after north road series) where he portrays în a deeper detail entire planets, worlds and many hundreds of characters that make you loose yourself among them. The read îs relaxing but captivates the imagination with the many avenues of mystery logic solving. You may have an idea but Peter F Hamilton îs surprising. you have read to the end.

I've read some comments that compared Peter F Hamilton with Asimov and I am a huge fan of Asimov). I would say Peter Hamilton's books have a richer content, more action and stories teaming with liveliness and inovațive detail (understandable given the time distance they wrote their books). Whole new worlds recreated in excepțional detail yet perceivable by the reader.

I fully recomend the Commonwealth series and the alternative void series ( the original void and this new one).
