Historia
On a planet where life is cheap, in a city built on corruption, very few things are considered holy. The Landing Site is one of them. The remains of the century-old habitat pod—which delivered the colonists to the only barely habitable place on the cruel world of Croatoan—has become a monument to the hardscrabble people who somehow survived the unsurvivable. So when blood is shed on that sacred ground, it’s seen as an attack against the entire colony.

If you like Larry Correia, you will love this audiobook. Make sure to listen to the first book in the series 1st. I would’ve spent a credit for it even though it was only 2 1/2 hours long.

My name is Sawyer William Vincent - I know, it sounds like three first names - but most people know me as the Red Raptor. Well, technically no one knows I'm the Red Raptor, he's just a bit more popular. Wow. Enough about my name. Let me start over. I’m a superhero - the legendary Black Harrier’s partner. Not sidekick. I don't care if I'm still in high school. We work together to bring down the city's most dangerous villains. When the Black Harrier gets a mysterious note, then goes missing in New York City, things are pretty much left up to me. But don’t worry...I’ve got this.

All 4 books in the series are free. This is the best value Sci-Fi and Fantasy series on audible right now. The narration was great and the story was fun. It's not breaking new ground with something unlike anything you have ever read, but I enjoyed every minute of it. There was a little language in it. Even though it is a super hero series, it would probably have a PG-13 rating if it was a movie.

A plucky farm boy will find more than he's bargained for on his quest to awaken the sleeping princess in her cursed tower. Then there's a bard without a song in her heart but with a very adorable and fuzzy tail, an assassin who fears not the night but is terrified of chickens, and a mighty fighter more frightened of her sword than of her chain-mail bikini. This journey will lead to sinister umlauts, a trash-talking goat, and the Dread Necromancer Steve....

Not Hearne's best, but still worth the listen.
Revisado: 08-06-18
The performance by Luke Daniels makes this book well worth the listen. He is able to make the characters come alive in your car. The story was just ok, however I think that is what the authors were going for. It pokes fun at many of the traditional fantasy archetypes. I found myself laughing a lot at the jokes only true fantasy fans would understand. I don't think I will listen to this multiple times, like The Iron Druid, but I still enjoyed it for what it was. Don't go into it expecting one of Hearne's other books and you won't be disappointed.

A Multi Galaxy Size Good Time!
Revisado: 01-24-18
Would you consider the audio edition of A Murder of Manatees to be better than the print version?
Absolutely, I don't think there is a print version. Even if there was Adam's performance adds so much to the fun it wouldn't be the same reading it.
What did you like best about this story?
I love the way Larry can have a good time while pocking fun at himself. His writing makes me laugh out loud as I'm driving even when I don't agree with his underlying political viewpoint. Although, in fairness to those of you reading this, I agree with him about 75% of the time.
Have you listened to any of Adam Baldwin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Every bit as good. His reading always makes the characters come alive.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes. It is short, fast paced and addictive. I was glad it was short enough to listen to in one sitting. But, as in the first book, it left me wanting more. It's one of the few short books I feel was worth a full credit.
Any additional comments?
Robots, Dinosaurs, Spaceships, Bar Fights, Kung Fu, And Insurance....Who could ask for anything more?
As Tom covered in the opening interview there is some language here. I would not listen to it with my grade school kids. However, it was not over the top. The few curse words used added rather than detracted from the story.
The story is great fun, but if you are easily offended when someone disagrees with your political beliefs you should probably avoid this book. If you can handle disagreement the humor here may help you empathize with those you disagree with. Every now and then it's good to see how silly we can sound arguing with one another.

Not every book in this series was great, but those who were disappointed in some of the latter books should be happy with this one. It not only was a good book in its own right, but it also wrapped everything up nicely.
I loved that they kept the same wonderful narrator for the entire series.

My children loved it!
Revisado: 01-04-15
What did you like best about Quest for the Diamond Sword? What did you like least?
This book was obviously written for children who love Minecraft. I have two boys who have now listened to it 5 times in the first two weeks we have owned it. However, the story is below average. I would have never finished it if my family wasn't on a road trip listening to books together. Parents are not going to love this book, but they won't hate it ether. It is a good book to listen to as a family.
Would you ever listen to anything by Winter Morgan again?
We have already purchased the second book in the series.
What about Luke Daniels’s performance did you like?
I love listening to Luke. When picking a Minecraft book for my kids I chose this one specifically because he was the reader. Like all of his work each character has a distinct voice. His performance provided life into an otherwise average book.
Do you think Quest for the Diamond Sword needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Need one? No. But there is one. My kids have listened to it twice in the past 36 hours we have owned it.

Historia
In a pulls-no-punches essay intended to provoke rational discussion, Stephen King sets down his thoughts about gun violence in America. Anger and grief in the wake of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School are palpable in this urgent piece of writing, but no less remarkable are King's keen thoughtfulness and composure as he explores the contours of the gun-control issue and constructs his argument for what can and should be done.

Revisado: 02-14-13
Any additional comments?
Stephen King is a self proclaimed liberal. If you have read my other reviews you would correctly surmise that I am a conservative. This essay is truly middle of the road. King has taken this very controversial and serious topic and accomplished two things. First, he tastefully recaps the horrors that America has gone through in the past few years that relate to the topic. Second, he offers some well thought out ideas about what can be done. The crazy thing is, (and this is coming from a conservative) they make sense. Really good sense. Even if you listen to this and disagree with what King has to say you will walk away with a better understanding of what the other political side is thinking. The book is basically free and well worth a listen.
Two side notes:
1) Even though the topic is serious the book is tastefully entertaining.
2) Don't listen to this with your kids there is some language.

A magnificent ending to one of fantasy's best.
Revisado: 02-08-13
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, as long as they have read the rest of the series. The Wheel of Time has been the most satisfying work of fiction I have ever read. Over the years it seems like the characters have become real people who I grew up with but only get to talk to about once a year. The entire world that Jordan created has so much detail and history that it seems more real than the exotic places I had not visited that actually do exist. Anyone who is willing to give this series the time it takes will be well rewarded in the end. If you have not read the rest of the series you should not read this book. Not that you would not enjoy it but, you would not get nearly the pleasure out of it that you would if you took the time to really get to know the characters.
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Memory of Light?
When it was revealed that Matt was a darkfriend. Just kidding.
What does Michael Kramer and Kate Reading bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The readers did a great job giving all the characters distinct voices and accents. I love that they kept the same readers for the entire series. I also like having a man and woman read the characters of the same sex.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending of the book (about 4 hours) was amazing.
Any additional comments?
The first 13 books of the series felt like a very satisfying marathon. Sometimes it felt like it was taking a long time but it was always good. This last book felt like a 42 hour sprint to the finish. There is so much packed into this last book. I'm sad to see it end.

They're an iconic part of history's most celebrated birth. But what do we really know about the Three Kings of the Nativity, besides the fact that they followed a star to Bethlehem bearing strange gifts? The Bible has little to say about this enigmatic trio. But leave it to Seth Grahame-Smith, the brilliant and twisted mind behind Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies to take a little mystery, bend a little history, and weave an epic tale.

Revisado: 11-21-12
What did you like best about this story?
I don't know how much of the historical background of the Roman Empire and the Roman characters Grahame-Smith took from actual facts, but I felt that this book really helped me get a perspective on how evil and corrupt the government of the time period was. If half of what he wrote about Herod is true he is one of the most evil men to ever live. As a Christian and a fan of Grahame-Smith I was excited to read this story. I was worried that it would either be a poor read or offensive to my beliefs. I am happy to say I was wrong on both counts. The book is not my favorite of the author's, but I did really enjoy it. As a follower of Christ I am happy to say that nothing that Smith wrote contradicted the character or divinity of Jesus. I don't know if Smith is a Christian or not, but he took a potentially explosive topic and handled it very well. The book gave me more of an appreciation of the hardships Joseph and Marry went through in this time period. For those who choose to read this book based on my recommendation I feel that I should give you two warnings. First, some nonessentials to the story have been changed (some of the facts about the life of Jesus are wrong.) However, these errors did not offend me or take away from the fact that He was the Son of God who came to save the world. Second, there is some bad language and a lot of graphic violence.

Revisado: 09-14-12
What did you love best about Harbor Nocturne?
After initially thinking this was not in the Hollywood Station series, I was thrilled to realize that it was a continuation of the stories of the men and women I grew to love in Wambaugh's earlier novels. It was particularly nice to see what had happened to the surfer cops after the accident in the last book. I love all of these characters and was grateful for another chance to visit their world.
