The next day April wakes up to a viral video and a new life. Perfect

You're going to hear a lot about this book, but I wanted to get in early. It is the best type of science fiction - the type that comments on our present reality by warping it just slightly. This is science fiction without beating you over the head with lasers and light sabers. The performance for the audiobook was flawless, and I really had a good time with it.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

Too soon?
Revisado: 07-07-15
Is it wrong to write a review before hearing the book? Probably. But, I am over the moon happy that this series is back. Without a doubt, i recommend these books more than any other. The narration is fantastic, and the content is beautiful, informative, challenging, and wonderful. Of course, I know I need to hear this edition, but I'll be sad when its over.

One of the earlier reviews I read said that this was "The Best Sci/Fi book of this Century".
I thought that was hyperbole.
Now, I agree completely.
Please bring on the 2nd and 3rd books as soon as possible.

Historia
The Committee, an international cabal of industrialists and media barons, is on the verge of privatizing all information. Dear Diary, an idealistic online Underground, stands in the way of that takeover, using radical politics, classic spycraft, and technology that makes Big Data look like dial-up. Into this secret battle stumbles an unlikely trio: Leila Majnoun, a disillusioned non-profit worker; Leo Crane, an unhinged trustafarian; and Mark Deveraux, a phony self-betterment guru who works for the Committee.

WTF Indeed
Revisado: 03-02-15
I am not one for leaving negative reviews, however, this book has also been unfairly hyped. I really, really wanted to like it and for the most part I did. However, that ending, that ending that ending. WTF was that all about?
Wonderful world building, nice characters, good story - all for naught. I shouldn't be angry at the end of a story.
Maybe there's a Part Two coming?

Historia
Imagine undergoing an operation without anesthesia performed by a surgeon who refuses to sterilize his tools - or even wash his hands. This was the world of medicine when Thomas Dent Mütter began his trailblazing career as a plastic surgeon in Philadelphia during the middle of the 19th century. Although he died at just 48, Mütter was an audacious medical innovator who pioneered the use of ether as anesthesia, the sterilization of surgical tools, and a compassion-based vision for helping the severely deformed, which clashed spectacularly with the sentiments of his time.

Creepy. Wonderful. Lost history.
Revisado: 10-08-14
I've been to the Mutter museum and it is fantastically wonderfully, odd, creepy and 100% American. After listening to this book, I have an entirely different context, and I want to go back to the museum tomorrow.
This is "lost history." We know the big stuff that happened, but this book is a wonderful example of the day-to-day lives of people, and of a city that wears its history on its sleeve.

Historia
Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip - a tradition as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfre. The boys are a tight-knit crew. There’s Kent, one of the most popular kids in school; Ephraim and Max, also well-liked and easygoing; then there’s Newt the nerd and Shelley the odd duck. For the most part, they all get along and are happy to be there - which makes Scoutmaster Tim’s job a little easier.

I don't usually write bad reviews
Revisado: 12-05-13
But, this was generally unlistenable after a while. Wonderful world building, but oh my lord was the dialogue horrible. The word, "Son", does not end a sentence, and if it does, it certainly does not need to do it repeatedly, son. It drove me to distraction, son. It really needed to be caught in editing, or somewhere.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.
