This book is for people who absolutely do not want to be w/ their ex again. This book preaches that every relationship that ends is supposed to end forever. It can be disheartening for people who are simply on a break and the relationship still has some life and can reconcile. So if you completely want to move on to another person - sure read this.

This book is best if you're broken up before age 40. However it has lots of great tips and reminders. For over 40 - Chapters 7 until the end were great!

The beginning lingers a bit long w/ character building. The details throughout the book are perfectly imaginable. I loved hearing about NYC and it's history. I really enjoyed this book, except the narration. It was much too contrived and except for Melinda and Sarah's character, the other character voices lacked variation in tone and the men sounded like women trying to execute a male voice. Overall, if you love historical fiction, yes, read this book!

Everyone has their own personal story.
Everyone has their own take on life and lessons they have learned. This book is Doyle's life. You're simply listening to someone tell their story. There will be things you can relate to and within those things, her story might change your perspective and or it may inspire you. The reviews that state Doyle as self-centered beg the thought, perhaps those readers/listeners haven't found themselves and somehow hearing about someone who has found themself, incites fear which then leads to judgement. Myself, I'm 44 and a mother. I found myself about 4 years ago. I'm no longer afraid, I'm curious about other people's stories and open to their perspectives. The only qualm I had was, I feel the book can really only be understood by someone who has parented children and has been in a long term romantic relationship. Someone who is 35 or older. The reason I bring this up, the whole time reading, i kept thinking I wish i had all of these
stories/ knowledge in my 20's but reminding myself, there was no way I would have come close to understanding and appreciating this book in my 20's before adult life REALLY began.
