Historia
Thaless is still reeling from the actions of the assassin known as the Emperor's Mask, and in the aftermath, believers in magical superiority have been greatly emboldened. When a goblin girl named Tinga Vreeg goes missing, it seems like a tragic consequence of the atmosphere of hostility and anger toward the non-magical. But when Tane and Kadka investigate, they find a much deeper mystery. Tinga isn't the only one missing—and she might have been on the trail of something important herself.

Historia
Reidon Ward will become a god. He doesn't know it yet, of course. Reidon was born weak, sickly, and small. Afflicted with a painful disease and abandoned by his parents because of it, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every minor advantage life has allowed him. Great action, good story, good retelling. A bit predictable but still entertaining and vastly engaging. I put it on in the background and have to keep going back to pick up some details I missed. Cannot wait for book 2 cannot come soon enough!

Historia
The ancient magic of wizards was anything but dark. It was the enlightenment that lifted humanity from the squalor of superstition, and the worship of fell spirits and capricious gods, but those days are gone. The shining glory of the sorcerers burned away the subtlety of wisdom, replacing it with easy power, held only in the hands of the elite - a new age built upon the elemental supremacy of aristocrats and the ignorance of the masses.

Keeps reading, good book and entertaining.
Revisado: 07-21-21
This is a very good book, The writing is nothing special but it is fast pace, entertaining, reasonably well laid out and overall quite good. It hooks in from the start and keeps you drawn in throughout. It’s not anywhere on the level of The raven shadow Trilogy or dawn of wonder, or Harry Potter or The like. But not every book is going to be a masterpiece, and that’s not a bad thing. It’s a good book it’s fun to read and it keeps you entertained. And if you consider that it’s job than it did it’s job well.

Historia
Mankind has lorded over the land of Illian for a thousand years, building on the ruins left by the elves, as if it were their birthright. A thousand years is a long time for an immortal race to see the truth of things, a truth that has remained unsaid for a millennium - elves are superior. They are faster, stronger, and connected to the magical realm in a way that man could never grasp. Illian should belong to them.

Evidently this author is not a high school graduate
Revisado: 10-27-18
Rule one of high school creative writing, show don’t tell. The writer of this book clearly has not learned this lesson ass that’s all he does is tell you what’s happening as a post to providing descriptive language.

The brightest and bestof hidden gems!
Revisado: 04-12-18
This is one of the most well written stories I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading, or this case listening to. Despite being relatively unknown I firmly believe it is capable of competing in the league with titles like every Potter and Lord of the rings. Truly an unbelievably fantastic book!!!! I almost never give 5 stars but this thing I would give 6 if I could. in fact this is my third time reading it through and I’m still captivated!

Good story terrible writing.
Revisado: 01-08-18
The premise of the story is thoroughly enjoyable, in fact it is so that it can't be listening and will continue to have me listening to the next books in the series despite the horrific writing style. Or rather the lack of any writing style. I would expect this kind of writing from a fifth grader not a professional author. The entire story is written in a manner, such that the author or narrator simply tells you what is happening rather than showing you. Occasionally Wood remembers to include some details but they are for the most part plain and boring. Would it kill the guy to describe Darius's eyes as something other than just Blue? But I digress, it is still a very interesting read simply due to the creative premise of the story, as well as the well-thought-out execution in the telling. So long as you can stand the poor descriptions and passive voice used throughout the story, it's well worth a read. If not for the authors poor writing style this book would easily be a five star book, but as it is written with the same level of skill as a fifth grader and fortunately cannot give it that kind of review.

Great book epilogue takes away
Revisado: 05-19-17
Excellent book and really deserves a 4 to 5 however the overextended epilogue ends up detracting from the overall story. Well the epilogue was certainly necessary there was no reason for it to be so drawn out. Other than that truly a good read. Strongly suggest you get the whole series
