In The Cold Six Thousand, James Ellroy's most ambitious and explosive novel yet, he puts the whole of the 1960s under his blistering lens. The result is a work of fierce, epic fiction, a speedball through our most tumultuous time.

Good story, Horrible character voices.
Revisado: 07-02-24
J. Edgar Hoovers voice was so bad and so annoying. The first book had such better voices. It was very hard getting used to them on this book. The book was great other than that.
If I hear "you're leading me again" I will scream.

Sabastian, Sabastian, Sabastian, Sébastian.......
Revisado: 08-26-22
If I ever hear the name Sabastian again I'll cry. How many times does she say his name in this book. Someone should get a prize for figuring that out. Everything was great except all the repetitive names and the narrators voice for Sabastion.

Very Confusing
Revisado: 08-21-22
I am still not sure who is sitting on the throne. I could have missed it but I do not recall who ended up being queen. Lots of characters, lots of stories, lots of adventures all in one book. You DEFINITELY need to read books one and two before you even think of trying to read this one. It took me a while but I finally finished it. I'll leave it up to the reader to rate it for themselves because I really do not know what to say about it.

It starts out kind of slow but ends up being very funny. I think it's just as good as the first book. I guess it is all up to what the reader likes. Enjoy it, I did.

Way too long
Revisado: 08-05-22
This had to be the most annoying, stupid, insecure girl I have ever read about in a book. The storyline was way too long, should have been at least a couple hours shorter. It took me so long to finish this one. I hope everyone else has a better experience.

I really liked this book. It took a long time to get to the murderer. The ending has a lot of answers all at once. Well, you'll understand after you listen to it. Anyways it was a great book and worth the credit.

Leah is really annoying in this one. Actually both of them are annoying. It's the typical fight with each other then don't talk to each other then one runs away yadayadayada. Very hard to finish this one. I even fast forwarded through all of the repetitive parts. Hopefully book 3 is better, I shall find out soon.

I don't even know what to say. Charlotte has to be the most ignorant naive girl ever. The story is about 2 hours too long. I guess I would recommend it. The story gets better about the half way mark.
