This is an easy and charming listen. The paranormal aspect is not too "woo-woo," which suits me. Enjoy!

She said yes to Morelli. She said yes to Ranger. Now Stephanie Plum has two fiancés and no idea what to do about it. But the way things are going, she might not live long enough to marry anyone. While Stephanie stalls for time, she buries herself in her work as a bounty hunter, tracking down an unusually varied assortment of fugitives from justice. There’s Eugene Fleck, a seemingly sweet online influencer who might also be YouTube star Robin Hoodie, masked hero to the homeless, who hijacks delivery trucks and distributes their contents to the needy.

Best book in the series!
Revisado: 11-27-24
What an inventive story with just the right balance of suspense, grit, silliness, and romantic tension. I appreciated that Grandma's role was less pronounced than in some of the earlier books in this series. I can't wait for the next installment of Stephanie Plum's story!

Historia
As a house-call vet, Ginny Reese has seen her share of the weird and wacky. But nothing in her previous experience could have prepared her to find one of her clients floating in her own swimming pool. Local artist Amanda Kelly was extremely wealthy with her share of secrets. By naming Ginny as her heir, not only did she make Ginny the number one suspect, but she painted a big bull's eye on her friend's back as well.

You'll Love this Vet Practice Cozy Mystery!
Revisado: 09-29-23
"An Embarrassment of Itches" by McKenna Dean is a terrific veterinary cozy whose protagonist, Ginny Reese, opens a vet practice in a small town where her mother lives. Ginny is a super smart and strong woman, but still a vulnerable human being. (This is so important to me because I cannot tolerate characters that are too stupid to live.) There is just the right amount of romantic tension in the form of a former boyfriend who is now the sheriff. And speaking of tension, Ginny's young german shepherd dog is not yet the match of her now deceased obedience expert dog, which adds drama at the right moments. Because the writer worked as a vet tech, she is able to provide enough medical detail to make the story plausible without making the reader want to skip pages to get back to the narrative. Terrific read! I am so looking forward to the next books in this series!

Historia
In early 1925, the Honorable Daisy Dalrymple Fletcher - recent mother of twins - resumes her journalistic career by agreeing to write a piece about the Tower of London - the Bloody Tower - for an American magazine. Invited to observe the centuries-old ritual Ceremony of the Keys, she's spending the night (her first time away from her babies), since the complex is locked and guarded, and the high walls are surrounded by a disused moat.

Historia
Imagine if you made one little mistake when you were young and were punished for it for the rest of your life. Well, that’s what happened to Lydia (yes, that Lydia, the youngest Bennet sister from Pride and Prejudice), and she’s here to set the record straight. Hold on to your teacups and get ready for sophisticated (and a little bit naughty) hot takes and witty banter that’ll make you laugh—and think. We meet Lydia just as she is denounced by her family, exiled miles from home, and married to the rogue George Wickham, who seems to love all women...except his own wife.

Annoying music track!
Revisado: 09-11-22
The actors' performances were entertaining, but the music track was so irritating! The choice of music did absolutely nothing to support the story and was completely inappropriate for the time in which this story takes place. Please, no music in audio books!

Another Winner from Rhys Bowen!
Revisado: 08-18-22
A Rhys Bowen book never disappoints and "Where the Sky Begins" is no exception! The story was so compelling that I gobbled it up like a greedy two-year-old with a big cookie. Once the story was unveiled, I listened to it again to savor the writing...and now I'm listening for the third time! (And kudos to the narrator, Emma Griffiths!)
This story brings World War II, a subject to which I'm not usually drawn, to life in a way that makes me hungry for more about the era. This is a perfect melding of history, belief in possibilities despite cruel bad luck and some poor life choices, romance...and mystery! There is a wonderful, sweet twist at the end--wait for it--that affirms the notions that the universe provides...and the sky's the limit.
