40 hours of epic fantasy awesomeness!
Revisado: 09-07-20
I will admit I procrastinated listening to this because I didn't want the story to end. I do appreciate the recap at the beginning of this book, but it's amazing to me that I could pick up this book after years away from the story and still be invested in the characters - They stayed with me all this time! The entire series has been amazing, but this story was exciting, clever, funny, sad, & everything I had hoped for in this series finale, but all the plot lines were answered in ways that were surprising yet satisfying and even better than I had hoped. Be prepared for the roller coaster, though! I'm hungover from 40 hours of awesome finished in 3 days.
Simon Vance delivers another excellent performance with so many different characters voices that were distinct and consistent I never had to wonder who was speaking. I never got lost. I would definitely recommend this series and this book to anyone who loves brilliantly executed epic fantasy!

Historia
There's a storm brewing over Eerie-on-Sea, and the fisherfolk say a monster is the cause. Someone has woken the ancient Gargantis, who sleeps in the watery caves beneath this spooky seaside town where legends have a habit of coming to life. It seems the Gargantis is looking for something: a treasure stolen from her underwater lair. And it just might be in the Lost-and-Foundery at the Grand Nautilus Hotel, in the care of one Herbert Lemon, Lost-and-Founder. With the help of the daring Violet Parma, ever-reliable Herbie will do his best to figure out what the Gargantis wants....

Another brilliant adventure!
Revisado: 06-18-20
This is classified as a children's book, but I am thoroughly enjoying the series so far! Herbie and Violet embark on another absolutely exhilarating adventure! Such fantastic characters with unique perspectives and excellently woven histories pull together yet another discovery into the complex layers of Eerie-on Sea! Don't take anything at face value & definitely proceed with caution when something seems too good to be true. Definitely go on this adventure!
Will M Watt - Voice Actor delivers a performance masterpiece with all of the difference characters of varying ages, accents, genders, and even species. You never lose track of which character is speaking because Will is the PERFECT guide to take you through these adventures with flawless precision. Another audiobook masterpiece on my best of 2020 list.

Historia
It’s winter in the town of Eerie-on-Sea, where the mist is thick and the salt spray is rattling the windows of the Grand Nautilus Hotel. Inside, young Herbert Lemon, Lost and Founder for the hotel, has an unexpected visitor. It seems that Violet Parma, a fearless girl around his age, lost her parents at the hotel when she was a baby, and she’s sure that the nervous Herbert is the only person who can help her find them.

Excellent creative adventure!
Revisado: 03-30-20
I found this book because Will is a favorite narrator. I was pulled into the story from the very start. The characters are interesting and vividly performed in this intelligent, thoughtful, extremely creative adventure in one of the quirkiest places you will ever visit in a story. Even the locations have a personality as you learn more about the history of the torn and characters in it. I can't wait to read more adventures in the series!

I did not care for this narrator. Not my favorite Elizabeth Berg book. I have enjoyed all her others that I have read.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.
