Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....

Absolutely Riveting!!!
Revisado: 08-15-11
Firstly, I am a big fan of Hero Stories and people who against all odds prevail. Herein this book is a full encompassing story that if not true would not be believed. Struggle, triumph, despair and reserved joy are all words I would describe this book with.
I found myself listening at work, in the car and then at home. I was on the internet looking for pictures of the people, places, planes war criminals ect. I felt so proud to be an American and a humane being after this experience. I loved it and I highly recommend you give this one a try.

The characters in this book are so real, so believable. I have just finished this book and let me tell you I am a devoted television watcher and I have not seen a show all week. I have been listening to this book for days now and I feel like have been on the adventure of a lifetime.
I found this story so intense and captivating I was dreaming about this story and talking with my friends about it. What a great amount of history that is shared in this book, I learned so much!
This book is a must read and so is the Lions Game! Enjoy!

The amazing race
Revisado: 08-09-04
When I got this audio book I had no idea that my next week was going to be one of wishing work was over so I could get in the car and get back into the adventure. I appreciate so much more what this book is about and how many people are affected by the findings of these divers not to mention the way they live their lives, all out!. Lastly, this book leaves your totally satisfied as all questions are answered and you feel satisfied like after a seven course meal. Highly recommended!

This is just a wild ride. It starts out quickly and smartly and as soon as you think you have it figured out it turns and twists just the way we all love.
I like the ending in this book, it's comlete and not hollow.
