Historia
More than 3,000 years have passed since the first events recorded in Dune. Only one link survives with those tumultuous times: the grotesque figure of Leto Atreides, son of the prophet Paul Muad'Dib, and now the virtually immortal God Emperor of Dune. He alone understands the future, and he knows with a terrible certainty that the evolution of his race is at an end unless he can breed new qualities into his species.

Boring
Revisado: 09-09-16
Terribly boring. One of the main points is that the God emperor is a tyrant, but we aren't really even given any examples. So it's hard to identify with the characters that dislike him. The narration is awful. The character voices are grating on the nerves. As a long time fan of Dune, I wish I would have skipped this book entirely and just got on with great stories that Brian Herbert and Kevin Andersen have been writing. But, I'm so OCD about making sure to read every book and in the correct order. That'll teach me not to bother. I wish I had my many hours back of slogging through this. Not sure I can even face Heretics and Chapterhouse after this stroll down boredom lane.

Historia
In Lamentation, the first entry in the Psalm of Isaak series, an ancient weapon has completely destroyed the city of Windwir. From many miles away, Rudolfo, Lord of the Nine Forest Houses, sees the horrifying column of smoke rising. He knows that war is coming to the Named Lands. Nearer to the Devastation, a young apprentice is the only survivor of the city—he sat waiting for his father outside the walls, and was transformed as he watched everyone he knew die in an instant. Soon all the Kingdoms of the Named Lands will be at each others' throats.

Would you listen to Lamentation again? Why?
Yes. Such a great story. For me it has everything, a little scifi a little fantasy.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Isaak: Because robots rock.
