Historia
Most of us live in a constant state of fear - of our past, of illness and aging and death, and of losing the things we treasure most. But it doesn't have to be this way, promises Zen master and Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh. Drawing on a lifetime of mindfulness in action, Thich Nhat Hanh shows us how to use the practice of living in the present to acknowledge and embrace our fears, recognize their origins, and render them powerless. The world-renowned Zen teacher guides us through practical exercises for transforming fear into clarity.

Smooth & Easy
Revisado: 07-14-16
Mr Mosley is the lead author of modern detective dare I say noir writing. His character Easy Rawlins is the smoothest operator in genre fiction. In CJ Charcoal Joe Mr Mosley draws in another of his famous characters Fearless Jones. And make sure you stay on the right side of these two! Fearless and Easy together solve their way past all sorts of tough aggressive strong arms whose sole purpose is to destroy them. This last Easy Rawlins mystery, is the fourteenth in the fabulous series and his brilliantly narrated by Lucian Msamati. But make sure you listen to earlier books narrated by Michael Boatman too.

Historia
London, January 2014. In the space of 32 hours, in a well-planned and highly organized operation, six billionaires' children are taken off the streets of London in a series of slickly well-executed kidnaps. The gang demands £25 million per hostage for "expenses" - not ransom. And when your child goes missing, you need Charles Boxer: a man with little left to lose, who'll stop at nothing to save families suffering what he has.

Wishful Thinking/Outrageous Premise
Revisado: 07-06-16
Mr Robert Wilson presents another amazing novel with Charles Boxer as the flawed protagonist. It's suspenseful. It's different. It's bound to impact on a huge number of readers and create changes in conservative thinking patterns.

Historia
In an unassuming house, on a quiet residential street in south London, a husband and wife are discovered imprisoned in their own home. Badly dehydrated, they’ve been bound and beaten. Worse still, their young son is missing. When DI Jack Caffery of the Met’s AMIT squad is called in to investigate, the similarities to events in his own past make it impossible for him to view this new crime with the necessary detachment.

Great writing, but beware visceral violence
Revisado: 06-06-16
Mo Hayder is a considered detailed and really quite amazing genre writer. But in my view her stories are extremely violent, dark, disturbing and viscerally distressing. Not unlike JK Rowling's descriptions in The Silk Worm where the violence is alarming troubling and upsetting.

Tony Parson's writing has an ease in its reading/listening that makes you want to stay with this story until the very end; and then expect to turn over to the next chapter as if there is more. It'll need patience to wait for his next book.

Smooth and Fascinating
Revisado: 07-12-15
Another great read from Walter Mosley. Leonid McGill is as smooth as ever in his roles as father, lover, agent and killer. Mr Mosley is a fabulous author and story teller. A small point that I miss in the Leonid McGill series as compared to Easy Rawlins is the historical perspectives Mr Mosley regularly included.

Excellent Spy Novel

An excellent spy novel that reminds me of Graeme Green. 'Double- crossing' spys that assassinate friends and foes alike, abound in this quite pro-British novel.

Not so Sweet Revenge
Revisado: 03-15-15
This is the second Ben Cheetham novel I've listened to, and it's a tighter faster and more consistent novel. The story line is ably supported by Nigel Carrington an excellent narrator. The focus of this novel is Revenge to which the author adds some food for thought with two characters on opposite sides of the argument.

Potential Nemesis
Revisado: 03-11-15
This book didn't create an excitement in listening for me. Although the main character has great potential to become a stalwart nemesis.
I felt the direction of the narrator was to dramatic like a Die Hard movie, when it could have gone for a cooler, darker style.

Neat Paced Spy Novel
Revisado: 03-11-15
First in a series of three so far. I came to this novel after reading the third Dirty Little Secret, which was much better. Without criticising the narrator too much so is Colin Mace's reading in the later novel. The writing gets better in the third. Interested now to listen to the second.
