Historia
Malcolm Gladwell, author of New York Times best sellers including Talking to Strangers and host of the podcast Revisionist History, uses original interviews, archival footage, and his trademark insight to weave together the stories of a Dutch genius and his homemade computer, a band of brothers in Central Alabama, a British psychopath, and pyromaniacal chemists at Harvard. As listeners hear these stories unfurl, Gladwell examines one of the greatest moral challenges in modern American history.

Extremely Incisive arguments for better sex
Revisado: 06-22-17
Wow. I'm going to need to listen to this one a few more times. Esther is a great speaker, thinker and doer in delicately dissecting the erotic. If nothing else this book will help you confront many of your dominate ideologies surrounding sex. It's opened my eyes wider to the vast constellation of possibilities and the specific responsibility we all have to divine what is is we really "want" and take actions to communicate and achieve this.

Historia
For decades we've been told that positive thinking is the key to a happy, rich life. "F*ck positivity," Mark Manson says. "Let's be honest, shit is f*cked, and we have to live with it." In his wildly popular Internet blog, Manson doesn't sugarcoat or equivocate. He tells it like it is - a dose of raw, refreshing, honest truth that is sorely lacking today. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck is his antidote to the coddling, let's-all-feel-good mind-set that has infected modern society and spoiled a generation, rewarding them with gold medals just for showing up.

READ/LISTEN!!
Revisado: 01-11-17
I'm going to keep this short. This book is powerful and funny. I just finished it for the 1st time and I feel like listening again. In the last 3 days of listening to it the lessons in this book have solidified thoughts and advice from hundreds of other sources. I would advise this as a modern life necessity.
Oh and did I mention this is probably one of the funniest book I've ever read as well?

World changing stuff: Measurement vs Possibility
Revisado: 05-06-16
This book is a wonder. It very old and important knowledge, way beyond the greater culture's current understandings of our world but at the same time intrinsically pulled from it. A lot of the concepts in the book are deceptively simple but the paths Ros and Ben take them on open up the complexity that is so often lost or ignored. The great task is to live their promise. It seems monumental but I'm primed to try.
Can't recommend this book more. It honestly made me cry at points.

Historia
Social scientist Brené Brown has ignited a global conversation on courage, vulnerability, shame, and worthiness. Her pioneering work uncovered a profound truth: Vulnerability—the willingness to show up and be seen with no guarantee of outcome—is the only path to more love, belonging, creativity, and joy. But living a brave life is not always easy: We are, inevitably, going to stumble and fall.

Where to start? This book is really brilliant. I'd never read any of browns previous work but this makes me want to pick up more of it. Explanations are clear, concise and hit close to home.
Highly recommended to anyone who wants to better themselves and how they interact in the world.
Brené's narration is fun as well. Gotta love the Texan drawl!

Historia
When Derek Sivers started CD Baby, he wasn’t planning on building a major business. He was a successful independent musician who just wanted to sell his CDs online. When no one would help him do it, he set out on his own and built an online store from scratch. He started in 1998 by helping his friends sell their CDs. In 2000, he hired his first employee. Eight years later, he sold CD Baby for $22 million. Sivers didn’t need a business plan, and neither do you.

Great Story, Great Lessons, Great Narration
Revisado: 02-06-16
This is a great story and a great book. Told with a rare earnestness and conciseness. I took notes the whole way and can see myself referring back to them often. So many gems in here!
When an author can narrate their own work it's always special. It's the true and definitive translation of mind to matter--at least as far as we humans can communicate our thoughts. Derek has a unique voice, style and humour that's amplified by him telling the story himself.
I loved this book, as both a fellow musician, producer and as someone who want to start a business. As Derek puts it to being a utopian vision of how I want the world to be.
Highly recommend to any and everyone. It'll make you think and if you extrapolate some of the lessons it will challenge how you think about your own, world, life or business.

In We Learn Nothing, satirical cartoonist Tim Kreider turns his funny, brutally honest eye to the dark truths of the human condition, asking big questions about human-sized problems: What if you survive a brush with death and it doesn't change you? Why do we fall in love with people we don't even like? How do you react when someone you've known for years unexpectedly changes genders?

Fantastic set of essays and stories
Revisado: 06-10-15
Loved this book! It's a wonderful set of vignettes and viewpoints--some that hit with astonishing clarity. Can't say I agree with all the conclusions (his cynicism betrays his uniquely 'lived' life) but I love his logic and appreciate the reminder that another life's perspective brings into my own. Krieders narration does come off as a bit monotone but that lends to the vibe and when he does add emotion it emphasizes the intimacy of the book. There are a few lines in particular I couldn't have seen working in print alone. Highly recommended!
