It is a golden age. Intrepid hyperspace scouts expand the reach of the Republic to the furthest stars, worlds flourish under the benevolent leadership of the Senate, and peace reigns, enforced by the wisdom and strength of the renowned order of Force users known as the Jedi. With the Jedi at the height of their power, the free citizens of the galaxy are confident in their ability to weather any storm But the even brightest light can cast a shadow, and some storms defy any preparation.

They took a LOT of liberties
Revisado: 06-13-21
In the first couple of hours of the story, the author already made everything Luke Skywalker ever did seem insignificant. Where Luke projected himself once, then died, EVERY jedi reached across the galaxy and simultaneously pushed a high speed object in space more than once and none of them died from it. Yoda, too, apparently, but never thought to mention such an incredible power in any of the movies. They can also apparently speak to each other across the galaxy using the force. would've been nice during the movies rather than having to relay signal and rely on communicators if they could have just used the force to speak to each other across the galaxy. Tactically they would have had a HUGE advantage over not only the Droid but even Darth Sidious. Why even program the warning message after order 66 when they could just use the force to speak to every jedi simultaneously?
Way to invalidate the entire Star Wars saga!
I can't even finish the book because I'm so irritated by this. I feel like those ladies in that Geico commercial. "THAT'S NOT HOW THIS WORKS! THAT'S NOT HOW ANY OF THIS WORKS!"

Historia
A string of best sellers have alerted us to the importance of grit - an ability to persevere and control one's impulses that is closely associated with greatness. But no book yet has charted the most accessible and powerful path to grit: our prosocial emotions. These feelings - gratitude, compassion, and pride - are easier to generate than the willpower and self-denial that underpin traditional approaches to grit. And, while willpower is quickly depleted, prosocial emotions actually become stronger the more we use them.

Awful book and narration

Awful book and narration
Revisado: 06-30-20
The narrator is awful. He uses a cheap microphone in what sounds like his kitchen. he is constantly fumbling over his words and at one point you can clearly hear a ring doorbell going off in the background. The actual book isn't much better. The guy is a toxic leader and clearly doesn't care to develop anyone in their knowledge. He constantly talks about his non compete agreement and how he reminds his customers of it as much as possible, and how he has aggressively sued former employees who left and how you should do the same thing. He also says not to hire experienced employees because they pose a threat to you. Let's be honest, if your employees can outshine you, you probably shouldn't be running a business, much less writing a book trying to tell others how to run one.
