I am not a mathematician
Revisado: 04-02-25
I am adequate at basic math, but anything beyond that is beyond me. Hence, much of the mathematical techno speak had my eyes going glassy. However, I have been dealing with unresolved issues with family members who have past. That part of the story I totally identified with and understood. I am absolutely thrilled with what Pauley learned along the way! Thank you!

Historia
I’ve got a list of people I absolutely don’t ever want to be stuck with on a boat, or a plane, or a train, and it starts and ends with the broody, grumpy, too-sexy-for-my-own good Axel Huxley. Also known as this romance novelist’s number one nemesis. The man is legendary for his mighty pen and his even mightier scowl. I tried to work together with the cocky thriller writer once upon a time, but the two of us are like vodka and good decisions. We don’t play well together.

Fun
Revisado: 08-12-24
Now that I have found this title, a fun listen. I listened to "My so-Called Love life," which appears to be the same book. But regardless of the title, Sabastian York (sigh) and Vanessa Edwin were good to listen too reading a fun story. I loved this peak into the joys(?) of writing, especially with a partner. It was fun and entertaining.

Interesting
Revisado: 05-15-24
An interesting mystery this time around. Lots of suspects, twists and turns. I like how Bree handles her job and juggles it with taking care of her niece and nephew. A work in progress, but she is working on it. Her relationship with Matt is evolving nicely. Yep! I am still reading this series as the books come available. Although, this time I listened on Audible. The narrator, was alright. Her style seemed like I was listening to an old episode of Dragnet though. Not a lot of emotion, if any at all. The story was good though.

Six years ago, when Camden Daniels came back from war without his younger brother, no one in the small town of Alba, Colorado, would forgive him - especially his father. He left, swearing never to return. But a desperate message from his father brings it all back. The betrayal. The pain. And the need to go home again. But home is where the one person he still loves is waiting. Willow. The one woman he can never have. Because there are secrets buried in Alba that are best left in the dark.

I finished
Revisado: 05-14-24
So many times I came so close to dumping this on the gave-up-on shelf. One - I am not a fan of the second chance trope. This one was better than most, but the old feelings, insecurities, low self esteem, unworthiness, you know, all those negative emotions that surface when confronted with unrequited love. Yeah, I tend to choose to live without them. Two - Camden being blamed for everything, whether he did it or not, or how hard he was provoked. His dad leading the entire town in this belief. Made me so angry. Yeah, again with the negativity. Three - the DNR issues. Hits a bit close to home here and I so wanted to kick some butt. I actually put the book down for a couple days determined not to finish. I read for the escapism value. I don't want real life.
I even tried listening to this on audible, hoping that might make it better for me. I got to do some crafting, so I didn't feel like I was totally wasting my time. But I wasn't thrilled with the narrators. They weren't bad, but didn't make it better.
But, being the good do bee that I am, I stuck to it. The joys of book club reading. This was a romance and as expected a happy ending. In fact it was a lovely ending. Went a ways to making the rest of it almost palatable. I did finish though.

Enjoyable listen
Revisado: 05-05-24
The beginning and the end. An interesting concept for this saga. I have read some of the books so recognized who the characters mentioned in the epilogue were. I suspect this book may have been written later in the series, rather than in the beginning. Even if the story is the beginning. Yes, I know confusing. But, before the epilogue, all was as it should be. For the most part I enjoyed it. The narrator? Not sure. I like his voice. He is pleasant to listen to, as long as one is not expecting any acting or different voices during the read. He is simply reading the story. Pros and cons to that. I have been used to acting happening, so this took a bit of a brain adjustment. Once that happened, an enjoyable listen.

I knew fixing up my life with a fresh start on the hobby ranch I inherited in Hell’s Bells, Wyoming, would come with challenges. Things like snow. Wildlife. Local gossip about why my daughter and I are here. But the biggest challenge? My surly new tenant. He’s like a bear. Fascinating from a distance, but don’t get too close, or he’ll bite. His personality should be a good thing. I have no need of a new man in my life. But he’s not only my tenant; he’s also my daughter’s math teacher and soccer coach.

I LOVED this book. I was caught right from the very beginning when we first meet Earl. Now he was a hoot. Gingersnap wasn't doing so well at that moment, but the stories told about her were hilarious. Flint, Maisy and Junie were pretty awesome too. Although there were many places for laughing out loud, this was also a story of growth and finding oneself. A beautiful read and yes, a happy-ever-after. A thoroughly enjoyable story, made even more enjoyable by a pair of awesome narrators. Listening to Connor Crais read some of those passages . . . *fanning myself furiously* Well worth taking advantage of the Whispersync. Although, headphones or earbuds may be advisable.

Lovely story
Revisado: 02-06-24
I have had this author on my read list for some time. Don't know why it took me so long to 'discover' her. I completely enjoyed this story. The twists in this were different, rather drastic, and very long reaching. It will be interesting reading the rest of the series to see how each person deals with it. The romance between Avery and Anna, while predictable, was sweet and beautiful. Their histories made it fascinating. The narrator, Rosalyn Landor, did a good job bringing the story alive for me. Lovely experience.
