Historia
The Good Enough Job reminds us that the biggest goal of all is to live a life we are happy with, and in which work is but one of the multitude of facets that make us who we are. An antidote to the toxic #hustle movement convincing us all we need to find fulfilment in the office, it denounces the dangers of burnout linked to those of us who cannot answer the question: beyond work, what's left?

Important discussions for today's busy world
Revisado: 07-17-23
Full of case studies describing journeys from work-centred existences to more balanced lives, this book was an interesting and thought-provoking listen. Read it at a time when I was struggling to establish healthier work boundaries - the book has left me with more conviction to transition away from work as the only source of my identity, and gave some valuable questions to ask myself to reconsider the role of work in my life. Narration is clear and easy to follow.

Historia
For many years, Glennon Doyle denied her discontent. Then, while speaking at a conference, she looked at a woman across the room and fell instantly in love. Three words flooded her mind: There. She. Is. At first, Glennon assumed these words came to her from on high but soon she realised they had come to her from within. This was the voice she had buried beneath decades of numbing addictions and social conditioning. Glennon decided to let go of the world’s expectations of her and reclaim her true untamed self.

Important points raised,but conveyed in a long-way
Revisado: 01-09-22
Narration is good and the book addresses important and useful points about living authentically and about self-acceptance. Mostly these are conveyed with great clarity, but sometimes it is hard to connecf with the author's abstract and grandiose language. But overall, definitely recommended for someone struggling with self-love, trust and self-compassion. I will revisit segments of it when I can.

Historia
When Edward Cullen and Bella Swan met in Twilight, an iconic love story was born. But until now, fans have heard only Bella's side of the story. At last, listeners can experience Edward's version in the long-awaited companion novel, Midnight Sun. This unforgettable tale as told through Edward's eyes takes on a new and decidedly dark twist. Meeting Bella is both the most unnerving and intriguing event he has experienced in all his years as a vampire.

Lots of new details, but Edward still creepy :(
Revisado: 11-07-20
First off - the narration was amazing! all the emotions brought out beautifully! The basic story - it's the same, but some more details were introduced so as to make Bella more attractive to Edward (adding more aspects to her personality) and to try and justify his obsessive behavior, but the book does not find a way to redeem the behaviour, only explain the thoughts behind it. It would be okay if Twilight were advertised as a story of an unhealthy relationship, but sadly I am sure there will be readers will take the obsessive stalking behaviour of Edward, explained in greater detail here, as the hallmark of true love. I wish Stephenie Meyer wrote some kind of disclaimer...

Over the years, self-reflection has acquired a bad reputation. They have taught us that focusing alone is destructive and leads to narcissism, the culmination of my first attitude, regardless of the circumstances of the individual. Only the approach, self-criticism, and self-reflection are different.

strange grammar, weird content
Revisado: 05-22-20
the sentences were weird and incorrect, some very strange concepts were described, the narration was chunky with bad flow and repeating phrases. couldnt complete this book. there were no groundbreaking or illuminating concepts. words like self pity are used to describe self compassion and so on. hard to follow.

Historia
Perfectionism is a naturally limiting mindset. For example, kids are taught to color inside the lines, and any color outside the lines is considered a mistake that must be corrected. Imperfectionism frees us to live outside the lines, where possibilities are infinite, mistakes are allowed, and self-judgment is minimal.

A good practical guide for perfectionists
Revisado: 05-08-20
This was an easy listen which brought many insights into perfectionism and best of sll, outlined some clear solutions which I am already trying to implement in my life. I liked the step by step structure of the book dealing with various aspects that perfectionists struggle with. It was a very useful read for me, one that I will turn to again and again for reference.

Did you know that most of our dinosaur fossils were discovered because two grown men absolutely hated each other? It’s true! Rivals! Frenemies Who Changed the World is a riotous audio exclusive, like if Monty Python taught your history class. Each volume of four 30-minute histories will dig into the petty name-calling and grumbling grudges that led to many of the world’s greatest advancements, all delivered with a cheeky sense of humor. Choose sides: Cope or Marsh, the jerks who discovered so many dinosaurs; Hamilton or Burr, whose rivalry fueled American politics; and many more....

Interesting story, Childish presentation
Revisado: 04-24-20
I am not sure if this book was intended for a younger age group (I think now that it was). The content is great, and most of the delivery is good too, but the accents and dialogues of the characters, though intended for humour, were not very funny to me. It seems great for kids though - simple language, lively narration, interesting stories and plenty of explosions!

An enjoyable, easy listen; mainly a love story
Revisado: 05-03-19
A sweet love story of a determined, dedicated scientist falling for a peer (pun!) despite great personal resistance. It was a fun listen as a love story and for the history tidbids set in Paris at the time of the Curies. Also does a decent job of conveying Marie Curie's passion for science, and of giving background into her life. A fun, light-hearted listen. Not for those looking for a more serious exploration of her life and her science.

Historia
The Courage to Be Disliked, already an enormous best seller in Asia with more than 3.5 million copies sold, demonstrates how to unlock the power within yourself to be the person you truly want to be. Using the theories of Alfred Adler, one of the three giants of 20th-century psychology, The Courage to Be Disliked follows an illuminating conversation between a philosopher and a young man. The philosopher explains to his pupil how each of us is able to determine our own life, free from the shackles of past experiences, doubts, and the expectations of others.

Historia
Under the all-seeing eyes of the assembled gods, armies are on the move. The Game has begun. And when it ends, the world will end, too.... In The Unwaba Revelations, the third and concluding part of the GameWorld trilogy, a way must be found to save the world; to defeat the gods at their own game. A daunting prospect under any circumstances, made worse by the fact that the gods, who control all the heroes, are blatantly cheating by following only one rule - that they cannot be defeated by their own creations.

Has its moments but seems really long drawn
Revisado: 07-19-18
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, but the series progressively got difficult to keep up with. some of the parts were rather stretched too long and the battle was overly descriptive keeping readers from progress on more thrilling bits. However the plot of the series overall is nice and complex full of (mostly) multidimensional characters and really good plot twists. enjoyed the series quite a bit, especially relished the references from Indian history/mythology, other pop culture and some good wordplay.
