Historia
Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter. And it’s a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan.

Miscommunication Trope
Revisado: 11-13-24
Much of this book irritated me because I hate the miscommunication/lack of communication trope, and this plays heavily into the theme.
However, it was still a good story and the performance was well done. I liked the anxiety representation.

Historia
Kian Walker has always been the golden boy of motor sport. The four-time Championship winner has racing in his DNA – his father was a legend on the track, just don’t let him catch you comparing the two. As reckless and unreliable at home as he was behind the wheel, there’s nothing Kian wants less than to be just like his dad. Enter Harper James. This year’s rookie called up to compete with the big boys – and Kian’s new teammate. Cocky, hot-headed and with a reputation for breaking as many hearts as he does new track records, Harper’s the opposite of Kian in every way.

Good story! Tough audio sometimes

This was very cute! However I kept having to adjust the volume because both voices kept whispering randomly, making it challenging to hear.

Historia
Harriet and Wyn have been the perfect couple since they met in college—they go together like salt and pepper, honey and tea, lobster and rolls. Except, now—for reasons they’re still not discussing—they don’t. They broke up five months ago. And still haven’t told their best friends.

Interesting…
Revisado: 07-03-23
Definitely not one of my favorites - the FMC’s internal dialogue was very tedious. And the ending was very strange.

Historia
Nineteen-year-old Signa Farrow, orphaned as a baby, has been raised by a string of guardians, each more interested in her wealth than her well-being—and each has met an untimely end. Her last remaining relatives are the Hawthornes, an eccentric family living at the glittering and gloomy estate of Thorn Grove. Thorn Grove’s patriarch, Elijah, mourns his late wife, Lillian, through wild parties and drink, while eldest son Percy grapples for control of the family’s waning reputation and daughter Blythe suffers from the same mysterious illness that killed her mother.

Good with some faults
Revisado: 02-28-23
I thought this was a really great concept but some challenges with execution. The pacing was very slow and I found myself bored, at times. Also found it to be predictable.
Narration was pretty good, though.
The whole poisoning things seems a bit redundant and looks like this will be continued in the second book.
