Excellent narration and storytelling

Ruby Dee is an excellent narrator. It’s one thing to read the words on the page and try to imagine what the characters would sound like; it’s another thing to hear the words and be transported into the story, as if you were some onlooker watching the events take place. I’m both happy and a little sad for Janie. I enjoyed the story throughout.

Great information. Narration needs editing.

It was a great book with lots of helpful information about general gardening concepts and specific techniques and approaches to gardening. The narrator had a great story voice, however, the narration was severely under-edited. This was distracting and confusing at times. But overall it was a good listen.

Great tips, but a little ambitious

I thought the book was great, although it seems that it may take more than 27 days to get up and running using the framework provided. I learned a few things that I can put into action immediately. There are others that may take some time to implement. Overall - a great read and very practical.

Jim Dale did a fabulous job narrating this story. He impressively conveyed the personality and dimension of every character. It was so easy and very fun to see the story come to life before my very eyes as I listened. Bravo!!

How deep is your love for Jesus?

This book truly challenged the seriousness and the depth of my commitment to Jesus. Who am I really loyal to? Am I really committed to give whatever, whenever, wherever? This was like going to the doctor to get a routine checkup but only to find out that you need surgery!

Absolutely awesome!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. The book is full of suspense and wonder from the very beginning. I love how real historical figures were injected into the novel. That gave it an almost "based on a true story" feel.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, it did. I just KNEW I knew who the killer was going to be. At every step I was trying to figure out what new evidence would point to someone I had thought about.

Which character – as performed by George Guidall – was your favorite?

It's a tie between Laszlo Kreizler and Teddy Roosevelt. I loved Laszlo's nonchalant personal and professional style. He was a champion for what he believed in. Teddy was a technology pioneer and a sure-fire advocate for justice and ethics. His progressive personality was like a fiery spark that would suddenly burst into flames in the midst of a dark room.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

The Alienist - Enter the mind of a killer ...

Getting ready to read the sequel - The Angel of Darkness. I heard it was just as good.
