Historia
Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

Starts off slow but then couldn't stop listening
Revisado: 02-26-21
The beginning was slow, so a little hard to get into, but once you start hearing the Mother's story I couldn't wait to hear what was going to happen next. Plus I like when books help me learn about things in history I never knew. So it made we want to look up information about Russia during WW2. Great book!!

Historia
Here is the behind-the-scenes story of how the United States forged its wartime alliance with Britain, told from the perspective of three key American players in London: Edward R. Murrow, Averell Harriman, and John Gilbert Winant. Drawing from a variety of primary sources, Olson skillfully depicts the dramatic personal journeys of these men who, determined to save Britain from Hitler, helped convince a cautious Franklin Roosevelt and a reluctant American public to support the British at a critical time.

Story is good, narrator is awful
Revisado: 03-07-18
The narrator sounds like a Speak & Spell, I just can't get through the book. Just so monotone he puts me to sleep or I completely zone out.

Light read
Revisado: 02-01-18
This was a quick, light read. Somewhat predictable but I still enjoyed it. I found myself frustrated toward the end with the main character but maybe that's what the author was going for. I enjoyed the ending.
