Historia
Private eye Mike Hammer is no stranger to murder, but this time he has two to untangle - the killing of the Captain, a legless, homeless panhandler, dismissed by the police as minor, and the slaying of gambling kingpin Marty Wellman, whose lady friend, Helen Venn, turns to the P.I. for help when the Mob fingers her for the next kill. Seems the new kingpin, Carmen Rich - with whom Hammer has a violent history - thinks Helen made off with ten mil in skim money courtesy of her late lover, or anyway, so Rich claims.

Historia
There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

Narrator was great
Revisado: 11-05-12
Where does 14 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I would say it was 3.5 to 4.0 range.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
I am not a big scifi fan but the narrartor really helped build the suspense. It was a little out there but most scifi stories are.
What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He really made the book for me.

Disappointing Story line
Revisado: 10-08-12
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A different story direction. It started out good, but got a little ridiculous the further into the book we went.
What could James Patterson and Michael Ledwidge have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
Make it more believable - It was far more science fiction than I like.

During his wanderings and work over the last 30 years as a Buddhist monk, Ajahn Brahm has gathered many poignant, funny and profound stories. While traditional Buddhist philosophy is at the heart of this collection, these thoughtful stories are written like playful parables, which are used to launch into a deeper exploration of subjects such as mindfulness, suffering, forgiveness, hope, wisdom, and unconditional love.
