Historia
When a bomb goes off at Yellowstone National Park, threatening the stability of the world's largest active volcano, the reclusive park ranger Harvey "Ben" Bennett is startled to realize that the blast itself wasn't the only threat: the bomb released a virus into the air, and the outbreak is beginning to infect and kill more and more people. Ben teams up with Juliette Richardson, a driven CDC agent working inside the newly-formed BTR (Biological Threat Research) team, to find the people behind the act of terrorism.

Story okay, except for bad science
Revisado: 05-12-20
I liked the story, but had to cringe several times regarding the so-called science. I decided I just would consider it as scientifically sound as Indiana Jones or James Bond. Ignoring the wonky sciency bits, it was a nice way to spend some hours lounging in the sun.

Historia
The Galahad, a faster-than-light spacecraft, carries 50 scientists and engineers on a mission to prepare Kepler 452b, Earth's nearest habitable neighbor at 1400 light years away. With Earth no longer habitable and the Mars colony slowly failing, they are humanity's best hope. After 10 years in a failed cryogenic bed - body asleep, mind awake - William Chanokh's torture comes to an end as the fog clears, the hatch opens, and his friend and fellow hacker, Tom, greets him...by stabbing a screwdriver into his heart. This is the first time William dies.

Unsatisfying ending
Revisado: 04-28-20
This book sounded like it had a great premise, and was off to an interesting start. The second half got a bit dull. And to me, the end was quite unsatisfying.
Good voice acting though.

Not my cup of tea
Revisado: 09-03-19
I struggled to finish the book, restarted several times. Badly written, illogical setting / storyline and also weird pronounciation. Why choose Amsterdam for your book, and then choose a narrator that can't pronounce Dutch names? Could easily have been set in an English speaking city. Hope I can return the book.

Good story, performance a bit annoying
Revisado: 02-05-19
Very interesting story. But the sound effects were unnecessary, and the narrator sometims sounds as if he's declaiming instead of just telling the story. Still an entertainig read / listen.

Historia
Secret Service agent Clint Hill brings history intimately and vividly to life as he reflects on his 17 years protecting the most powerful office in the nation. Hill walked alongside Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon B. Johnson, Richard M. Nixon, and Gerald R. Ford, seeing them through a long, tumultuous era - the Cold War; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Robert F. Kennedy; the Vietnam War; Watergate; and the resignations of Spiro Agnew and Richard M. Nixon.

Interesting story, performance a bit distracting
Revisado: 12-25-18
The narrator sometimes uses illogical emphases, which distracts me from what was actually said. Other than that, very interesting story.

Historia
Coyote America is both an environmental and a deep natural history of the coyote. It traces both the five-million-year-long biological story of an animal that has become the "wolf" in our backyards and its cultural evolution from a preeminent spot in Native American religions to the hapless foil of the Road Runner. A deeply American tale, the story of the coyote in the American West and beyond is a sort of Manifest Destiny in reverse.

Historia
In 1979, a secret unit was established by the most gifted minds within the US Army. Defying all known accepted military practice - and indeed, the laws of physics - they believed that a soldier could adopt the cloak of invisibility, pass cleanly through walls and, perhaps most chillingly, kill goats just by staring at them. Entrusted with defending America from all known adversaries, they were the First Earth Battalion. And they really weren't joking. What's more, they're back and fighting the War on Terror.

DNF. The topic sounded interesting enough (crazy military ideas can be funny or brilliant, or perhaps even both) but Mr. Ronsons voice simply annoys me too much. Sorry.
