Historia
Life for Adda Sinclaire, New York Times best-selling author and historical romance writer extraordinaire, reads more like a country song than a breathless, bodice-bursting affair. For starters, she has no romance in her own life. That might have something to do with the fact that her husband - correction, ex-husband - ran off with Stick Woman, whom everyone knew would never be more than a mid-list author anyway.

Tamara Leigh took me for journey I really enjoyed. Being an author is something she understands but not something I know. her conflicts and conflict resolution felt good as well as her character development. I did not feel I needed to fix anything.

Historia
She used to work for the US government, but very few people ever knew that. An expert in her field, she was one of the darkest secrets of an agency so clandestine it doesn't even have a name. And when they decided she was a liability, they came for her without warning. Now she rarely stays in the same place or uses the same name for long. They've killed the only other person she trusted, but something she knows still poses a threat. They want her dead, and soon.

Would you listen to The Chemist again? Why?
Yes- I listened to it twice already.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Yes- I really liked the characters and the twists. There were times I had to reflect on the other books Stephenie Meyer wrote to predict what would happen next and have hope it would end good. I like books with happy endings, but force me to find clues from previous comments to keep going.
What does Ellen Archer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She brings all the characters to life. They sound different and it feels like you are watching a movie when you listen.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I really could not take the part where Daniel recieves a fatal blow. I thought great another book where the main character is killed, but then I started looking for other clues previously listed in the book to see if I missed something. I though it was so cool how she tied in the previous clues in the book.
Any additional comments?
Part of me wonders if I did miss something in listening to it because Stephenie tends to put visuals in the text that can not be heard in a book, but it is really nice to hear the story and how it flows.

A Treasure
Revisado: 02-06-18
Would you consider the audio edition of The Secret of Pembrooke Park to be better than the print version?
The printed may be easier to reference back on what happened, but the story flows so well it is an intense listen that really makes you think about what you treasure and why.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Abigail, the main character is the obvious favoriate, but I think my favoriate was Mrs. Webb. She is the one that really makes the whole story possible. She has insecurities, and seems to take the journey of discovering true treasure with the rest of the characters.
Which character – as performed by Elizabeth Jasicki – was your favorite?
I like William because he seemed to be know treasure when he sees it.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, but I could not so I had to rewind several times to make sure I had not missed things.
Any additional comments?
I loved the deep thought this book required. It was more than great story to listen to. It was a journey I took with the characters. My heart went out with some of them as they did not seem to understand what they were looking for.
